Plates (2;) are conveyed continuously in a conveying direction, whereby at least a first edge (15) of a plate Is provided with an edge profile by means of a rotating edge milling tool. A corner (16) connecting, the first edge and a second edge (17) of the plate is rounded at least partly by means of a rotating milling tool (12a, 12b) having a peripheral profile corresponding to a desired corner edge: profile of the plate. The rotating corner milling tool is controlled to be displaced along the continuously moving plate so if) at the rotating garner milling tool moves next to a corner to: he mimdeell and Is subsequently controlled to fee displaced simultaneously in the conveying direction (D) and m a transverse direction to Hie conveying, direction so that if follows a trajectory describing at least a part of: a desired rounding of the corner in a coordinate system fixed to the continuously moving plate.
METHOD OF PROCESSING SUBSTRATE AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING SUBSTRATE
One object is to suppress the surface of a substrate from being scratched in the course of a polishing process. There is provided a method of processing a substrate, comprising: a process of forming a protective film on an outer peripheral part of the substrate including a bevel portion, prior to a process of polishing the substrate, wherein the process of forming the protective film includes applying a protective film material in a liquid form onto the outer peripheral part of the substrate and curing the applied protective film material; and the process of polishing the substrate with the protective film formed on the outer peripheral part thereof.
NOZZLE TIP AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING ONTO A PARTIAL CUT PANEL
Nozzles are provided, for applying setting resins onto the edge of a partial cut in a panel, in some embodiments a honeycomb panel. The nozzle comprises a connector portion and an application head, wherein the application head comprises: a) a supporting wall, and b) a finish wall joining the supporting wall along an edge at an angle of 90 degrees or greater and less than 120 degrees. In some embodiments, the finish wall has a trailing edge which has a curved profile wherein the curve radius remains between 1.0 and 7.0 cm throughout the curve. In some embodiments, the finish wall has a leading edge which comprises a block wall which at least partially blocks movement of applied resin beyond the leading edge of the finish wall. In addition, methods of applying a setting resin onto the edge of a partial cut in a panel are provided.
NOZZLE TIP AND METHOD FOR DISPENSING ONTO A PANEL EDGE
Nozzles (200) are provided, for applying setting resins onto the edge of a panel (100), in some embodiments the cut edge of a panel such as a honeycomb panel. The nozzle comprises a connector portion (210) and an application head (230), wherein the application head comprises: a) a supporting wall (240), and b) a curved finish wall (250) joining the supporting wall along an edge at an angle of greater than 92 degrees and less than 120 degrees. In some embodiments, the curved finish wall has a curve radius which remains between 1.0 and 7.0 cm throughout the length of the curved finish wall. In some embodiments, the curved finish wall has a trailing edge profile which is smoothly curved and a leading edge profile which is scalloped. In addition, methods of applying a setting resin onto the edge of a panel are presented.
Plank Finish Applicator And Method Of Use
A plank finish applicator assembly for simultaneous application of finish to multiple planks includes a brush head to which a rod is attached. The brush head comprises a plurality of bristles having a plurality of recesses extending into its lower face and between its front and rear edges to define at least two sets of elongate bristles. At least one opposed edge of the plurality of bristles comprises a set of elongate bristles. The recesses and the sets of elongate bristles have widths substantially equivalent to those of a plank in a field of planks and a gap or a channel that is defined by adjacently positioned planks, respectively. The rod is used to dip the bristles into liquid finish and to motivate the brush head across the field to apply the liquid finish to upper and opposed side facets of the planks.
