PROTECTIVE MEMBER FORMING APPARATUS

A holding table for holding a wafer includes plural pins, and a wafer holding surface includes the tips of the plural pins. Therefore, small dust enters between the pins and thus is less readily left between the wafer holding surface and the wafer. Therefore, when the wafer is sucked and held, a gap is less readily made between the wafer holding surface and the wafer. Thus, the occurrence of the situation in which the wafer is held in a waving state is suppressed. For this reason, when a liquid resin is pushed to spread over the lower surface of the wafer, an air bubble enters less readily between the liquid resin and the wafer. This can suppress entry of the air bubble in a protective member obtained by curing the liquid resin.

System for applying pipe dope to external threads of a pipe

A pipe doping system for applying pipe dope to the external threads of a pin end member may comprise a pump fluidly coupled to a dope-containing reservoir and a dope manifold, the pump positioned to pump pipe dope from the reservoir to the dope manifold; an ejector coupled to the dope manifold and positioned to supply a fixed volume of pipe dope from the dope manifold to a dope distribution line; a dope applicator, the dope applicator fluidly coupled to a dope distribution line positioned to deposit pipe dope on the external threads, the dope applicator being located apart from the ejector and including a nozzle positioned to receive a flow of pipe dope from the dope distribution line and apply the pipe dope onto the threaded connection. The system may include a power source to increase the pressure of the pipe dope as it is dispensed by the ejector.

Method and device for producing coated, and in particular painted, building boards and associated painted building board

The subject matter of the present invention is a method for producing coated, and in particular painted, building boards (1), preferably for the interior finishing of buildings. First, the respective building board (1) is provided on its longitudinal edges (2) and/or transverse edges with a bevel (4). Then, the respective building board (1) is transferred to a rubber-like transporting belt (7) in such a way that the edges (2) respectively provided with the bevels (4) are arranged transversely in relation to the conveying direction (F) of the transporting belt (7) and the bevels (4) are arranged adjacent to a visible side (6) of the building board (1), facing away from the transporting belt (7). Finally, a coating material, and in particular paint (13), is applied to the visible side (6) of the building board (1) and respective bevel areas (5) of the bevels (4) in one operation with the aid of at least one roller (11) arranged above the transporting belt (7) and rotating substantially transversely in relation to the conveying direction (F).

Transfer printing using shape memory polymers

A method of transfer printing comprises globally heating an array of stamps, where each stamp comprises a shape memory polymer with a light absorbing agent dispersed therein, and pressing the array of stamps to a donor substrate comprising a plurality of inks. Each stamp is thereby compressed from an undeformed adhesion-off configuration to a deformed adhesion-on configuration. The array of stamps is then cooled to rigidize the shape memory polymer and bind the plurality of inks to the stamps in the deformed adhesion-on configuration. The plurality of inks remain bound to the stamps while the array of stamps is positioned in proximity with a receiving substrate. A selected stamp in the array is then locally heated using a concentrated light source. The selected stamp returns to the undeformed adhesion-off configuration, and the ink bound to the selected stamp is released and transfer printed onto the receiving substrate.
