According to one embodiment of the invention, a coating apparatus includes a first pipe, a first pump, a first nozzle, a second nozzle, and a holder. The first pipe includes a first inflow port, a first outflow port, and a second outflow port. The first pump is configured to supply liquid toward the first inflow port. The first nozzle includes a first nozzle inflow port and a first nozzle discharge port. The first nozzle inflow port is connected to the first outflow port. The first nozzle discharge port is configured to discharge the liquid passing through the first pipe. The second nozzle includes a second nozzle inflow port and a second discharge port. The second nozzle inflow port is connected to the second outflow port. The second nozzle discharge port is configured to discharge the liquid passing through the first pipe. The holder holds the first nozzle and the second nozzle. The holder is configured to form a first state and a second state. In the first state, a height of the first nozzle discharge port and a height of the second nozzle discharge port are not less than a height of the first pipe. In the second state, the height of the first nozzle discharge port and the height of the second nozzle discharge port are lower than the height of the first pipe.

In the second state, the height of the first nozzle discharge port and the height of the second nozzle discharge port are lower than the height of the first pipe.
SCALING AND COATING OF CONTINUOUS MULTI-MATERIAL STRIPES AND PATTERNS
A hybrid scaling and patterning apparatus for producing thin films with multi-material, customized patterns is disclosed. The apparatus includes a slot die body integrated with multiple inlets and corresponding converging channels passing materials through the die body in a planar, continuous laminar flow. The hybrid scaling and patterning apparatus may be used in a method of preparing multi-material, patterned thin film materials.

A hybrid scaling and patterning apparatus for producing thin films with multi-material, customized patterns is disclosed. The present disclosure relates to a slot die coating apparatus for coating an electrode active material slurry onto an electrode collector, the slot die coating apparatus including a coating roller, a die comprising a lower discharge opening, through which a first electrode active material slurry is discharged, and an upper die located on the upper side of the lower die and having an upper discharge opening, through which a second electrode active material slurry is discharged, and an upper air vent may be installed in the upper die and a lower air vent may be installed in the lower die.

A slot die shim for use with a slot die, the slot die shim including a first channel configured to receive a first coating, a second channel configured to receive a second coating, and a third channel configured to receive a third coating. The slot die shim simultaneously dispenses the first coating through the first channel, the second coating through the second channel, and the third coating through the third channel onto a substrate. The coatings can be applied at different flow rates and include different test reagents. A vacuum force is applied to the first, second, and third coatings to control a width and a thickness of each of the coatings and a gap or distance between the coatings. The first, second, and third coatings are placed near one another or directly in contact with one another to minimize the area required for the coatings.

The apparatus preferably uses applicator cartridges having a reservoir containing the coating compositions used to form the coatings. Preferably the cartridges are removable and interchangeable to facilitate the production of individual analytic substrates having different coatings or different coating patterns. These coated analytic substrates have superior specimen adhesion characteristics due to the improved quality of the coatings applied by the coating apparatus and due to the quickness with which the coated analytic substrates can be used in the lab after production.

INTERMITTENT COATING DEVICE
This intermittent coating device is provided with a die which applies paint to a workpiece, and a first intermittent valve and a second intermittent valve which can switch between a first state in which paint is provided to the die and a second state in which provision of paint is stopped. The first intermittent valve and the second intermittent valve have mutually different timing for switching between the first state and the second state.
