In an embodiment, a paint roller manufacturing system and method uses a fabric-coating applicator to apply a fabric adhesive onto a portion of a perforated paint roller cover fabric material having a plurality of perforations through which adhesive may flow, and into the plurality of perforations and into interstitial spaces of the fabric material, to yield a length of coated fabric. An inner strip and an outer strip are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. A strip-coating applicator is used to apply a strip adhesive to the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. Simultaneously with the step of applying the strip adhesive to the outer strip, a portion of the coated paint roller fabric material is received at the outer strip and the length of coated fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube.

A quick release paint roller system; the quick release paint roller system includes a paint roller assembly including a paint roller frame having a first-bracket-arm having a first-retaining-pin, a second-bracket-arm having a second-retaining-pin, a handle, a first-endcap, a second-endcap, a locking mechanism, and a user-control including a finger actuated release button. The paint roller frame allows a hosted paint roller to be removed in a hands-free manner without direct, manual contact with the paint roller, thus eliminating mess, waste, and inconvenience that would ordinarily result with standard manual brush removal.

MODULAR SPRAY ROLLER SYSTEM

A spray roller system for application of architectural paints coating, includes an extension tube, a spray head mounted on a distal end of the extension tube, and the in-line valve with a trigger mounted on a proximal end of the extension tube, and a roller handle removable mounted on the extension tube adjacent the spray head. The spray roller system can spray and back roll a coating on a down stroke and roll on each up stroke. When the roller handle is removed from the extension tube, it can be used to hand roll sensitive wall areas. With the roller handle removed, extension tube, spray head, and in-line valve can be used as a spray extension to apply coatings in hard to reach areas.

In one aspect, methods of making a carbon coating are described herein. In some implementations, a method of making a carbon coating comprises applying a first adhesive material to a substrate surface to provide an adhesive surface; rolling a carbon source over the adhesive surface to provide a carbon layer on the adhesive surface; and rolling an adhesive roller over the carbon layer to remove some but not all of the carbon of the carbon layer to provide the carbon coating.

The curtain coating member creates a curtain-like film of coating liquid and makes the curtain-like film flow down. The conveyance unit conveys a base material to which the curtain-like film is to be applied. The separation member includes a receiving portion inclined downward from inside to outside in a width direction of the curtain-like film, and separates an end portion of the curtain-like film having flowed down by receiving the end portion with the receiving portion above the base material. The base material supporting member is disposed inside in the width direction of the curtain-like film than the receiving portion of the separation member, and supports the base material on an upper side flat portion while the base material is being conveyed.
