Method and apparatus for forming layers of particles for use in additive manufacturing
11305349 · 2022-04-19 · ·

A method and an apparatus for forming a particle layer are provided. The layering method includes injecting particles in an injection zone defined at a gas-liquid interface between a carrier liquid and an ambient gas, and controlling a flow of the carrier liquid along the gas-liquid interface to carry the particles downstream along a particle flow path from the injection zone to a layer formation zone. The method also includes accumulating the particles in the layer formation zone to gradually form the particle layer on the gas-liquid interface, and withdrawing the particle layer from the layer formation zone. The particle layer formed by the layering method and apparatus can be used to fabricate a three-dimensional object by additive manufacturing.

Absorbent structure with permanent and temporary attachments

The present invention relates to an absorbent structure, preferably for use in absorbent products, such as used in the food, consumer, household, building and construction, beauty and medical industry, and as used in the personal hygiene industry. The substantially cellulose free absorbent structures continuously immobilise absorbent polymer material via initial smaller pockets and subsequently larger compartments allowing excellent fluid management of the absorbent polymer material in dry, partially and fully liquid loaded state. Preferably such absorbent structure volume increases are result of temporary secondary attachment patterns made in combination with substantially permanent primary attachment grids allowing the release of bigger volumes from the initial smaller volumes by detachment of the secondary attachments. Furthermore the absorbent structure according to an embodiment of the invention non-homogeneously swells to form a liquid-managing surface structure as a result of exposing the absorbent structure to liquid. The present invention foresees in the need for improved flexible, thin, lightweight absorbent structures which overcome the absorbency problems of the prior art during absorption, distribution and retention of liquids with optimal fit.

The disclosure relates to a method for producing a wooden composite material board, in particular an MDF or HDF board, wherein a cake made of wood chips or wood fibres wetted with a binder is spread, which is subsequently pressed in a hot press to form a board of a desired thickness, wherein, before the pressing, a mixed powder made of colour pigments and a second binder is spread onto an upper side of the cake as a primer, wherein the cake is sprayed with water after the spreading of the mixed powder.

POWDER APPLYING APPARATUS, ENERGY DEVICE MANUFACTURING METHOD, POSITIVE ELECTRODE FOR BATTERY, AND NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR BATTERY

A powder applying apparatus includes a transport device, a powder supplier, and a squeegee. The transport device moves a sheet in a predetermined direction. The powder supplier supplies powder on a surface of the sheet. The squeegee has a distance from the sheet, and the powder supplier adjusts the thickness of powder supplied onto the surface of the sheet. The squeegee vibrates at a frequency of 2 kHz or more and 300 kHz or less.

High speed granule delivery system and method
11213851 · 2022-01-04 · ·

A high speed granule delivery system and method is disclosed for dispensing granules in intermittent patterns onto a moving asphalt coated strip in the manufacture of roofing shingles. The system includes a granule hopper and a rotationally indexable pocket wheel in the bottom of the hopper. A series of pockets are formed in the circumference of the wheel and the pockets are separated by raised lands. A seal on the bottom of the hopper seals against the raised lands as the wheel is indexed. In use, the pockets of the pocket wheel drive through and are filled with granules in the bottom of the hopper. As each pocket is indexed beyond the seal, it is exposed to the moving asphalt coated strip below and its granules fall onto the strip to be embedded in the hot tacky asphalt. The speed at which the wheel is indexed is coordinated with the speed of the asphalt coated strip so that granules and strip are moving at about the same forward speed or at a preselected ratio of speeds when the granules fall onto the strip. Well defined patterns of granules are possible at high production rates.
