METHODS FOR FORMING COMPOSITE ARMOR PLATES USING ORDERED NANOTUBE FABRICS
A method for arranging nanotube elements within nanotube fabric layers and films is disclosed. A directional force is applied over a nanotube fabric layer to render the fabric layer into an ordered network of nanotube elements. That is, a network of nanotube elements drawn together along their sidewalls and substantially oriented in a uniform direction. In some embodiments this directional force is applied by rolling a cylindrical element over the fabric layer. In other embodiments this directional force is applied by passing a rubbing material over the surface of a nanotube fabric layer. In other embodiments this directional force is applied by running a polishing material over the nanotube fabric layer for a predetermined time. Exemplary rolling, rubbing, and polishing apparatuses are also disclosed.

Method for coating a surface with a transferable layer of thermoplastic particles and related apparatus
A method of coating a donor surface with a layer of thermoplastic particles, the method comprising: providing a supply of the thermoplastic particles suspended in a fluid, applying the fluid to the donor surface, in a manner to cause the particles suspended in the fluid to form a substantially continuous particle coating on the donor surface, causing fluid flow within an interior plenum of a housing over a portion of the donor surface partially disposed therein, the fluid flow being of sufficient magnitude to entrain particles that are not in direct contact with the donor surface and insufficient to entrain particles that are in direct contact therewith; and extracting from the plenum fluid and particles which are not in not direct contact with the donor surface, so as to leave adhering to the donor surface a particle coating that is substantially only a single particle deep.

Multilayer Structure, Method for Producing Same, Packaging Material and Product Including Same, and Protective Sheet for Electronic Device
The present invention provides a multilayer structure that has excellent gas barrier properties and an excellent peel strength between a base and a gas barrier layer after retorting, and that can retain a good appearance with no delamination even after retorting under stress. The present invention also provides packaging materials and products including such a multilayer structure. The present invention relates to a multilayer structure comprising a base (X), a layer (Z) stacked on the base (X), and a layer (Y) stacked on the layer (Z), the layer (Y) containing a reaction product (D) of an aluminum-containing metal oxide (A) and an inorganic phosphorus compound (BI), the layer (Z) containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin (C) and a polyester resin (L).
Methods for foil stamping parts having asymmetrical edges
A method for coating a part that has an asymmetrical edge by attaching the part to a part holder, placing a film between the part and a mandrel, rolling the part over the mandrel such that the asymmetrical edge of the part contact the film, and, moving one or both of the mandrel and the part holder in an angular relationship to one another as the angle of the part's asymmetrical edge changes. A film dispenser and a film retriever are provided and preferably they move cooperatively in at least two dimensions with respect to the part holder. The film has a first edge and a second edge, and the film can be a decorative coating, a protective coating or combinations of these. The film dispenser holds the first edge of the film, the film is positioned between the mandrel and the part holder and the film retriever holds the film second edge.
Shape-forming packaging material, and method for producing power storage device with surface printing
The shape-forming packaging material is a shape-forming packaging material including a heat resistant resin layer as an outer layer, a heat fusible resin layer as an inner layer, and a metal foil layer disposed between both the layers, and is configured such that a print improving resin layer is laminated on a further outer side of the heat resistant resin layer.
Methods for printing solder paste and other viscous materials at high resolution
Systems and methods in which dot-like portions of a material (e.g., a viscous material such as a solder paste) are printed or otherwise transferred onto an intermediate substrate at a first printing unit, the intermediate substrate having the dot-like portions of material printed thereon is transferred to a second printing unit, and the dot-like portions of material are transferred from the intermediate substrate to a final substrate at the second printing unit. Optionally, the first printing unit includes a coating system that creates a uniform layer of the material on a donor substrate, and the material is transferred in the individual dot-like portions from the donor substrate onto the intermediate substrate at the first printing unit. Each of the first and second printing units may employ a variety of printing or other transfer technologies. The system may also include material curing and imaging units to aid in the overall process.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FLOOR BOARD
A method of manufacturing a floor board comprises the steps of supplying a panel, printing a curable substance or surface removing substance onto the panel in a predefined pattern for creating an elevation on the panel at the pattern or removing a portion of the surface of the panel at the pattern, respectively, and curing the curable substance or removing any reaction products of the surface removing substance and the panel.
