METHOD FOR THE CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF A LOW-DENSITY MINERAL FOAM
A method for the continuous production of a mineral foam of which the density in the dry state (d) is from 40 to 600 kg/m.sup.3, includes (i) mixing cement; a water reducing agent; 0.5 to 10%, % by weight with respect to the total weight of cement, of ultrafine particles having a liquid-solid contact angle comprised from 30° to 140°, and of which the D50 is from 10 to 600 nm; water, with a water/cement weight ratio from 0.3 to 2.5; (ii) adding to the mixture from 0.5 to 10% of a pore-forming agent, % by weight with respect to the weight of cement; (iii) applying the mixture obtained at step (ii) on a support; (iv) leaving the mixture to expand on the support.
Method and apparatus for producing a decorative workpiece and workpiece
The inventions relates to a method for producing a decorative workpiece with a structured surface comprising the following steps: (B) applying a first liquid lacquer having a coarse structuring over the entire surface, wherein a difference in thickness between thicker regions and thinner regions is at least 50 μm, in particular at least 100 μm; (E) applying a second liquid, at least partially transparent lacquer for producing a fine structuring in some regions. Furthermore, an apparatus for performing the method and a workpiece produced by the method are claimed.
LASER TEXTURING SURFACE PREPARATION FOR PARYLENE COATING ADHESION
A process for coating parylene onto a metal surface, such as a medical device, that has been textured by a series of laser pulses. The laser pulses can be overlapping or rastered. The textured portion of the metal surface and parylene coating can form a strong mechanical interlock. The bond created by using the laser texturing process can result in a cohesive failure of the parylene and not an adhesive failure of the bonding.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR APPLYING COATINGS TO BRAKE ROTORS
This disclosure relates to improved systems and methods for applying coatings to brake rotors. The systems, methods, and techniques described in this disclosure facilitate application of both pretreatment coatings and protective coatings to brake rotors. Other embodiments are disclosed herein as well.
Polyester film and method for producing the same, back sheet for solar cell, and solar cell module
A polyester film containing a polyester support having a terminal carboxylic acid value of from 3 to 20 eq/ton and IV of from 0.65 to 0.9 dL/g, and a conductive layer having a surface specific resistance of from 10.sup.6 to 10.sup.14Ω per square with an in-plane distribution of from 0.1 to 20% exhibits an improvement in withstand voltage.
METALLIC SHEET WITH DEPOSITED STRUCTURED IMAGES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A metallic sheet with deposited structured images and method for manufacture (MSDIMM) that includes a substrate, at least one structural feature, and a metal layer. The structural feature is at least one cavity on the substrate's upper surface, or at least one material object that extends outward from the substrate's upper surface. The metal layer is deposited, either by sputtering or atomic deposition, onto the substrate's upper surface, and, as the metal layer is deposited, the metal layer interfaces with and follows the dimensions of the structural feature(s), thereby creating a visible image at the location(s) of the structural feature(s). The visible image can be any image, and is preferably either an artistic image, a textual image, or an authentication image. The MDSIMM can be used for a variety sf purposes, and is especially effective as a form of exonumia or currency.
Fabric conveyor belt with layered PVC and polyester coating and method of forming the same
A fabric carcass defines the base of a conveyor belt. A first polymer is coated or otherwise disposed over an exterior side of the fabric carcass to cure with a first layer thickness. The first polymer may be a polyvinyl chloride resin with a plasticizer additive to provide an added robustness to belt at a relatively low cost. Due to deterioration that may occur when certain polyvinyl chloride resins are used as the exterior surface of the conveyor belt, a second polymer is disposed over the cured layer of polyvinyl chloride to define an exterior surface that is configured for resiliently interfacing with a die press of a cutting or stamping station. The second polymer may be a polyester to provide improved resiliency and an exterior surface with better durability than the first polymer.
Method of glass fabric production including resin adhesion for printed circuit board formation
Embodiments generally relate to devices and methods for production of fibers and threads for use in electronic device manufacturing. Described here, fibers can be produced and manipulated using a dual-surfaced sizing material. The dual-surfaced sizing material has a surface which binds a fiber and a surface which binds a resin. Thus, the dual-surfaced sizing material can be left attached to the fibers without adversely affecting the resin binding in later production steps.
Methods and Systems for Application of Wax on Geophysical Streamers
Embodiments relate generally to marine geophysical surveying. More particularly, embodiments relate to a wax application system for application of a wax coating to a surface of a streamer. An embodiment may comprise a marine geophysical survey system. The marine geophysical survey system may comprise a streamer and a wax application system operable to receive the streamer on deployment and apply a wax coating to the streamer as the streamer is being deployed from a survey vessel into a body of water.
COATING DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM AND COATING DIAGNOSIS METHOD
To provide a coating diagnosis system and a coating diagnosis method that allow centralized management over data related to processes in a painting line, including a pretreatment process. The coating diagnosis system includes a data acquisition unit of a pretreatment controller that acquires data related to a pretreatment process when pretreatment for paint is performed on a workpiece in the pretreatment process in a painting line, and a data management unit of a host controller that registers the data related to the pretreatment process in a database in associated with a serial number of the workpiece.
