System and Method for Applying Aroma Releasing Material to Product Packaging
20170341818 · 2017-11-30 ·

A system for creating a microencapsulate coating composition and the method of adding the scented microencapsulate coating to product packaging. The microencapsulate coating contains scented compounds that are encapsulated to create encapsulated particles. The encapsulant can be either water soluble or hydrophobic depending upon the intended application. The encapsulated particles are mixed with a binding agent, to create a scented microencapsulate coating. The scented microencapsulate coating is applied to packaging in areas that will be touched as the packaging is manipulated. The physical contact ruptures the microencapsulate coating and releases the scented compounds contained therein.

Polyimides as laser release materials for 3-D IC applications

The invention broadly relates to release layer compositions that enable thin wafer handling during microelectronics manufacturing. Preferred release layers are formed from compositions comprising a polyamic acid or polyimide dissolved or dispersed in a solvent system, followed by curing and/or solvent removal at about 250° C. to about 350° C. for less than about 10 minutes, yielding a thin film. This process forms the release compositions into polyimide release layers that can be used in temporary bonding processes, and laser debonded after the desired processing has been carried out.

LASER POST-TREATMENT OF METAL EFFECT PIGMENT SURFACES TO LOCALLY INCREASE RADAR AND/ OR LIGHT TRANSMISSION
20230166324 · 2023-06-01 ·

Post-treatment method and/or fine patterning method of effect pigment-containing or metal-containing particle-containing objects, for example car body parts or cosmetic containers or layers, for example paint layers or printing ink layers, by means of energy input (e.g. heat input, preferably by laser light), whereby the hiding power of metal-containing pigment platelets or metal-containing particles is permanently reduced by their change in shape factor. In the treated surfaces, this change in shape factor causes a permanent local increase in transparency, translucency or transmission for electromagnetic waves, in particular radar wave, radio wave and/or light wave transmission, and/or a local reduction in reflectance, for example for the production of painted radomes. The process differs from conventional laser marking in that the transmission for electromagnetic waves of normally reflective metal-effect pigment surfaces or metal-containing particles is permanently increased by the change in shape factor caused by the laser beam, whereby pigment platelets or particles are changed either by direct melting and/or by triggering an auxiliary chemical reaction in such a way that their metal core is at least partially melted, possibly chemically transformed and/or destroyed.

WEATHER-RESISTANT, FUNGAL-RESISTANT, AND STAIN-RESISTANT COATINGS AND METHODS OF APPLYING ON WOOD, MASONRY, OR OTHER POROUS MATERIALS

A process for manufacturing the composition coating may include selecting a wood or masonry material substrate and utilizing a sol-gel comprising a silane or silane derivative and metal oxide precursor to coat the substrate. The process may utilize an all solution process or controlled environment for manufacturing a composition coating that prevent wetting and/or staining of a substrate. The composition coatings for treating wood or masonry materials improves weather-resistance, microbial resistance, stain-resistance and fungal-resistance of the materials. The reduced permeability of the resulting masonry materials can also delay or inhibit degradation caused by permeation of ions such as chlorides and sulfates. In addition, a stain comprising the composite solution and pigments may impart additional property to wood or masonry materials whilst retaining or improving the original appearance, particularly for the visibility and contrast of the wood grain as seen after the application of the coating.
