The invention also pertains to a method for using the cooking utensil to heat and/or bake food products, and to a method for recoating the non-stick release agent on the substrate of the cooking utensil.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR FILLING CRACKS IN ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATINGS AND THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS AND COMPONENTS FORMED THEREBY

Methods and systems are provided for filling cracks in an environmental barrier coating and/or a thermal barrier coating (EBC/TBC). The method comprises locating a component within an enclosure of an apparatus, the component including a substrate having the EBC/TBC thereon, wherein the EBC/TBC includes cracks extending from an exterior surface of the EBC/TBC toward the substrate, reducing pressure within the enclosure to a first pressure that is less than atmospheric pressure, applying a filler slurry to the exterior surface to cover the cracks while the EBC/TBC is exposed to the first pressure, increasing the enclosure to a second pressure that is greater than the first pressure, wherein the second pressure is sufficient to cause the filler slurry on the EBC/TBC to infiltrate into and fill the cracks, and sintering the filler slurry sufficient to cure the filler slurry within the cracks.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR LIVERY REPAIR

Disclosed herein is a surface repair and livery printing system and method. The method includes receiving an aircraft part having an altered surface image and selecting a repair process from one of a paint repair process, a decal repair process, or an inkjet repair process, based on characteristics of the altered surface image. The method also includes applying paint to the surface over the altered surface image. In response to selecting the decal repair process, the method includes printing a first image on a decal based on the characteristics of the altered surface image and a second image associated with the altered surface image and a step of applying the decal to the surface at least partially over the altered surface image. In response to selecting the inkjet repair process, the method includes performing the inkjet repair process to at least a portion of the surface based on the characteristics of the altered surface image.

COATING SYSTEM AND METHOD

Systems and methods that provide or restore a coating to a component are provided. The systems and methods utilized an atomizing spray device. A gas and a slurry that comprises fluid and ceramic particles are supplied to the atomizing spray device. The slurry and gas are discharged from the spray device to form two-phase droplets. The fluid within the droplets evaporates to prevent the fluid from becoming part of the coating as the droplets traverse through the air and prior to impacting the surface of the component.

Adaptable Surface Treatment Repair System

A method of applying a surface treatment on a contoured surface includes attaching a surface treatment repair assembly to the contoured surface that includes a robotic unit and an array of applicator heads, each applicator head being configured to apply a repair treatment to the contoured surface. A location of the surface treatment relative to the surface treatment repair assembly is determined using an optical sensor configured to scan the contoured surface and generate an image data set of the contoured surface. A damaged portion of the surface treatment is identified and a target area for surface treatment repair is defined based on comparing the image data set generated by the optical sensor and a pristine image data set. The surface treatment repair assembly is positioned with the array of applicator heads adjacent to the surface treatment, and each applicator head is selectively operated to repair the surface treatment.

Method for repairing turbine component by application of thick cold spray coating

A method for repairing a Ni-based alloy component includes preparing a surface of the Ni-based alloy component for receiving a cold spray repair; spraying a stream of particles onto a the surface of the Ni-based alloy component to form a coating thereon; and removing any over-spray on the surface of the Ni-based alloy component. The particles are formed from an alloy material having a melting point such that the particles are sprayed at a spray temperature that is less than the melting point of the alloy material.

HYBRID LASER SURFACE PROCESSING AND SPRAY COATING SYSTEM

Methods and systems for treating components are described. The methods include using a system having a controller, a laser applicator, a coating applicator, and a sensor array. The laser applicator, the coating applicator, and the sensor array are arranged on a treatment arm that is controlled by the controller. The method includes scanning a surface to be treated of the component using the sensor array, cleaning the surface to be treated using the laser applicator, defining surface texture patterns, applying laser texturing, and applying a new coating to the surface to be treated using the coating applicator.

IN-LINE CHEMICAL HEATING FOR IN-SITU GENERATION OF ACTIVE CHEMICALS
20190153333 · 2019-05-23 · ·

The disclosure pertains to methods and systems for converting inactive chemicals into active chemicals in-situ for treating oil and gas pipelines, other industrial systems, or sanitizing surfaces. A method of treating an oil and gas pipeline is disclosed. The method may include feeding an inactive additive through a first conduit and into a second conduit, wherein the second conduit is in fluid communication with the first conduit and the oil and gas pipeline. The method also includes converting the inactive additive into an active additive within the second conduit and introducing the active additive into the oil and gas pipeline.

Method of Dispensing a Material
20190137026 · 2019-05-09 · ·

A method and system for dispensing a material through a delivery apparatus is provided. The material initially comprises or is manipulated to comprise a low viscosity. The material either can comprise a curable material or can comprise initiators, which can be activated to raise the viscosity at a later time and position. The low viscosity material is moved through the delivery apparatus for a relatively long distance using low energy. Upon nearing an end use application, the material and/or initiators can be activated by a curing agent, such as a light or heat source, such that the viscosity of the material be raised prior to the end use application thereof. Therefore, the present invention provides a method and system for moving a material normally having a higher viscosity a long distance requiring lower energy and pressure.
