COATED SUBSTRATES FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES
A coated substrate for an electronic device can include a substrate, a physical vapor deposition layer over the substrate, and an anti-fingerprint layer over the physical vapor deposition layer. The physical vapor deposition layer can include an alloy of gold and platinum. The anti-fingerprint layer can include an ultraviolet radiation-cured polymer mixed with an anti-fingerprint material. The anti-fingerprint material can include a silane, a fluorinated polymer, a hydrophobic polymer, or a combination thereof.
Methods and systems for application of wax on geophysical streamers
Embodiments relate generally to marine geophysical surveying. More particularly, embodiments relate to a wax application system for application of a wax coating to a surface of a streamer. An embodiment may comprise a marine geophysical survey system. The marine geophysical survey system may comprise a streamer and a wax application system operable to receive the streamer on deployment and apply a wax coating to the streamer as the streamer is being deployed from a survey vessel into a body of water.

Antireflection hard coating film and preparation method thereof
Provided is a hard coating film in which a hard coating layer having a water contact angle of 90° or less, a conductive layer, and a low refractive index layer are laminated on a substrate, the film having excellent hardness, anti-curling property, antireflection performance, antifouling performance, and antistatic performance.
Coatings and coated surfaces including low-surface energy inorganic particles
Articles comprising a substrate and a coating are described. In some examples, the coating is disposed on at least one region of the surface and comprises at least one hydrophobic layer. In some instances, the hydrophobic layer comprises a composite comprising a single metallic element or metallic compound and at least one type of surface-modified inorganic particles to provide a metal-based matrix. In certain examples, the at least one type of surface-modified inorganic particles within the metal-based matrix is embedded within the metal-based matrix and is separate from the single metallic element or metallic compound in the metal-based matrix. Processes for producing the coatings and articles are also described.
STRUCTURES AND LIQUIDS FOR LIQUID INFUSED SURFACE STRUCTURES
A structure for use as a liquid impregnated surface (LIS) can include a surface configured to interact with a liquid to retain the liquid to the surface. The liquid can be a low viscosity hydrocarbon. In certain embodiments, the low viscosity hydrocarbon can be polyalphaolefin (PAO) or heptane, for example. Any other suitable low viscosity hydrocarbon is contemplated herein. In certain embodiments, the structure can further include the low viscosity hydrocarbon disposed on the surface.
Multi-functional anti-icing hydrogel materials and methods for controlling ice nucleation, growth and adhesion
Highly efficient, multi-functional anti-icing compositions and methods of their use are provided. Anti-icing compositions include hydrogels configured to form thin film coatings on various surfaces via spin coating under UV irradiation. Multifunctional anti-icing platforms are based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-grafted polyelectrolyte hydrogels. Methods for grafting hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) chains onto a hydrophilic polyelectrolyte network containing various counterions, forming a multifunctional hybrid anti-icing hydrogel are also provided.
CONTAINER WITH A COATING LAYER
Container (1) with a coating layer. The invention is in the field of containers for foods and drinks. There is provided a method for applying a coating layer (2, 4) on a preform (1, 2) for a container (1) using plasma deposition. There is also provided a preform (1, 2) for a container (1), as well as a container (1) obtainable by stretching of the preform (1, 2).
METHODS FOR HYDROPHOBIZING BOWSTRINGS
Methods for hydrophobizing bowstrings are described herein. In one aspect, the method can include applying a silicone-based hydrophobic coating to the bowstring; and curing the bowstring for a predefined period of time.
