ADHESIVE FILM AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The present invention provides an adhesive film hardly suffering from fisheyes and deposition of dirt and dusts thereonto and having excellent mechanical strength and heat resistance as well as good adhesion properties, which can be suitably used as various surface protective films, etc. The present invention relates to an adhesive film comprising a polyester film and an adhesive layer formed on at least one surface of the polyester film, in which the adhesive layer comprises a resin having a glass transition point of not higher than 0° C., and an antistatic agent, and a thickness of the adhesive layer is not more than 10 μm.
PROCESS FOR HOT APPLICATION OF A SILYLATED ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a process for hot application of an adhesive composition (80) on a support (96), by means of a system comprising: a nozzle (50) for applying the adhesive composition (80), a line (88) for supplying the nozzle (50) with the adhesive composition (80) to be applied in fluid form, a mixer (30) positioned in the line (88) for the homogeneous mixture of the main components of the adhesive composition before its application; the applied adhesive composition (80) including as main components: a silylated prepolymer, a compatible tackifying resin; the adhesive composition comprising a cross-linking catalyst; the process comprising: supplying the line (88) with the silylated prepolymer separated from the cross-linking catalyst, the mixing of the cross-linking catalyst with the main components by means of the mixer (30), the hot application of the mixed adhesive composition (80) onto a support (96).
HOT MELT ADHESIVE COMPOSITION, ADHESIVE TAPE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ADHESIVE TAPE
A hot melt adhesive composition which can realize moderate adhesive strength with respect to the adherend when porous substrate is used, the composition, including: a styrene-based block copolymer; a tackifier; and a plasticizer; wherein: the styrene-based block copolymer is a styrene-butadiene block copolymer and a butadiene portion thereof is partially hydrogenated; the tackifier is contained by 65 to 190 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the styrene-based block copolymer; and the plasticizer is contained by 0.1 to 24 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the styrene-based block copolymer.
METHOD OF MASKING AND PRETREATING A PLASTIC PART PRIOR TO BEING SPRAY-PAINTED
A method of masking and pretreating a plastic part prior to being spray-painted including the steps of providing a plastic part having one or more adhesive bond lines. The plastic part is typically an exterior automotive component having a painted show surface. Examples of plastic parts include but are not limited to lift gates, running boards, door trim pieces, spoilers, tail gates, front fascias and rear fascias. The method can also be used in connection with metal parts or any other application where a surface of the part will be painted and other surfaces on the part need to be protected from direct paint spray or paint overspray.
PRINTING AN ADHESIVE PATTERN ON AN ANTI-FOULING SUPPORT
Process for printing an adhesive pattern on a polymer brush extending at the surface of a support (1), forming a nanometric anti-fouling layer (2), the process comprising the following steps:—placing the layer (2) in contact with a first aqueous solution (4) containing a benzophenone,—then illuminating the layer with radiation (3) at a wavelength within the absorption spectrum of benzophenone, according to the pattern and according to a surface energy.
Metering system for simultaneously dispensing two different adhesives from a single metering device or applicator onto a common substrate
A new and improved hot melt adhesive or other thermoplastic material dispensing system comprises two separate and independent rotary gear-type metering pumps with two separate and independent supply sources and fluid supply passageways, or two separate and independent sets of rotary gear-type metering pumps with two separate and independent supply sources and fluid supply passageways, which are able to independently output precisely metered amounts of the hot melt adhesive materials simultaneously onto a particularly substrate through suitable output devices so as to result in a multitude of different hot melt adhesive patterns and at different locations.
Adhesive formulation and also method for the treatment of reinforcing inserts
The present invention relates to an adhesive formulation in the form of an aqueous dispersion with a solids content of 10 to 40% by weight relative to the adhesive formulation, for the treatment of reinforcing inserts for the production of reinforced polymer products, 100% by weight of the solids containing a) 1 to 20% by weight of a bisphenol A epoxy novolak, b) 0 to 20% by weight of an entirely or partially blocked isocyanate, c) 60 to 92% by weight of a resorcinol formaldehyde latex (RFL).
Pressure-sensitive adhesive layers with surface-enriched stripes and methods of making
Herein are disclosed a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on a substrate, the adhesive layer containing stripes of first and second pressure-sensitive adhesives. The surface of the adhesive layer that faces the substrate is surface-enriched with the first pressure-sensitive adhesive. Methods of making are disclosed.
Method of modifying substrate surface
A method of modifying substrate surface includes: performing an O.sub.2 plasma treatment on a substrate including polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS); coating hydrophilic UV curing coating uniformly on the substrate; disposing the substrate into an oxygen-free environment; and exposing to an UV light to cure the hydrophilic UV curing coating. The method of modifying substrate surface may greatly enhance the hydrophilicity and the stability of the PDMS substrate.
