COATED PANELS PROVIDED VIA CURED POWDER, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS AND PRODUCTION APPARATUS

A flat panel that includes a substrate that has at least one planar extent with a surface contour thereon, and a cured-on-substrate photopolymer upon the planar extend of the substrate. The photopolymer extends into the surface contour of the planar extend of the substrate from application of a melting force to an initial powder form of the photopolymer. The photopolymer is solidified into a cured unitary mass from application of curing irradiation. A method of providing a flat panel. An apparatus makes the flat panel.

In a powder coating process, a primer step is implemented prior to electrostatically applying the powder coating, either in advance of preheating the object to be coated or subsequent thereto, depending upon the selection of materials used in the object to be coated, the primer material being diluted fabric softener applied in a fine mist spray or fog to the object.

Digital binder and powder print
11130352 · 2021-09-28 · ·

A method and equipment to form a digital print by applying dry colourants on a surface of a panel, bonding a part of the colourants with a binder and removing the non-bonded colourants from the surface. The method of forming a digital print on a surface of a panel includes displacing the panel under a digital drop application head, applying a liquid binder with the digital drop application head on the surface; applying colourants on the liquid binder and the surface; bonding a part of the colourants to the surface with the liquid binder; removing non-bonded colourants from the surface such that a digital print is formed by the bonded colourants; and applying heat and pressure on the panel, the surface and the bonded colorants such that the colourants are permanently bonded to the surface.

METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING PANELS AND PANEL OBTAINED THEREBY

A method may be provided for manufacturing coated panels that include at least a substrate and a top layer with a printed motif. The top layer may be provided on the substrate. The method may involve providing a synthetic material layer on the substrate. A relief may be provided on the surface of the synthetic material layer provided on the substrate. The relief may include a pattern of recesses. The pattern may be at least partially determined using a digital technique that is applied for providing a synthetic material-repelling agent or a lacquer-repelling agent. The agent may determine at least a portion of the pattern of recesses.

METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING PANELS AND PANEL OBTAINED THEREBY

A method may be provided for manufacturing coated panels of the type including at least a substrate and a top layer with a motif. The top layer may be provided on the substrate. The method may involve providing a synthetic material layer on the substrate. A relief may be provided on the surface of said synthetic material layer provided on the substrate. The relief may include a pattern of recesses. The pattern may be at least partially determined by at least one print that is applied by inkjet printing. The relief may be obtained by printing a mask directly on or in the synthetic material layer. After providing the mask, the synthetic material layer may be cured. The mask may provide for selective curing of the synthetic material layer, such that the synthetic material layer is not solidified or solidified at a lesser extent in correspondence of the mask. The not solidified or less solidified portions of the synthetic material layer may be removed by performing a material-removing treatment on the synthetic material layer thereby obtaining the relief.
