Wax coating over phosphate coating for vehicle components
A coating for vehicle components, such as frame assemblies and cradle assemblies formed of steel, is provided. The coating includes a first layer including a high phosphate composition applied to the substrate, and a second layer including wax applied to the first layer. For example, the first layer can include a first inorganic acid, an inorganic salt, a second inorganic acid, nickel salt, and ammonium bifluoride; and the second layer can include petroleum, carbon black pigment, and a corrosion inhibitor, the corrosion inhibitor including magnesium. The coating has been found to improve corrosion resistance when applied to steel substrates, compared to wax coatings which are currently applied to steel substrates.
Multilayer coating film formation method
The multilayer coating film formation method for forming a multilayer coating film on a substrate comprises the steps of: applying an undercoat paint composition (X) comprising an antioxidant (a1) to a substrate to form at least one layer of an uncured first coating film; applying a topcoat paint composition (Y) containing a carboxy-containing polymer (b1) and an epoxy-containing acrylic resin (b2) to the first coating film to form an uncured second coating film; and simultaneously heating the uncured first coating film and the uncured second coating film to cure the films.

Method for forming multilayer coating film
Provided is a method for forming a multilayer coating film, the method being capable of forming a multilayer coating film having excellent chipping resistance, adhesion, and finished appearance. The method for forming a coating film uses a 3-coat and 1-bake system in which a three-layered multilayer coating film obtained by sequentially applying a first coloring paint (X), a second coloring paint (Y), and a clear coating paint (Z) onto an object to be coated is heated and cured at the same time, wherein the first coloring paint (X) and the second coloring paint (Y) contain a hydroxyl group-containing resin, and the clear coating paint (Z) contains a hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (a) and an aliphatic triisocyanate compound (b1) having a molecular weight within a specific range.
System and method for inside of can curing
An improved inside of can curing technology is provided. One implementation uses narrowband, semiconductor produced infrared energy which is focused into the inside of the can to affect a very high-speed curing result and will directly impact the coating covering the inside walls of the can to rapidly cure the coating. De-tempering and annealing of the aluminum can body does not have time to occur, thus leaving a stronger can with the same amount of aluminum or a can of the same strength but with less aluminum. It is also possible to eliminate the natural gas fueled oven that is the current standard and replace it with a completely hydrocarbon-free curing alternative that has superior performance. This high powered radiant, narrowband energy will be digitally controlled to introduce only the needed heat and to not overheat the can.
Liquid discharge apparatus
A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge unit and a contact detection unit. The liquid discharge unit has a liquid discharge port from which a liquid is discharged toward an object. The liquid discharge unit is movable along at least one of a first axis and a second axis intersecting the first axis and movable along a third axis intersecting the first axis and the second axis. The third axis is parallel to a direction in which the liquid is discharged from the liquid discharge port toward the object. The contact detection unit detects contact of the liquid discharge unit with the object. The contact detection unit is detachably attached to the liquid discharge unit.
