Methods for preparing coating compositions for protecting oilfield operational components
Coating compositions for coating an oilfield operational component, and related methods, may include in some aspects a coating composition having a trifunctional silane, a silanol, and a filler. The coating composition may be applied to a surface of the oilfield operational component that is configured to be exposed to a fluid. The coating composition may be applied to at least partially cover or coat the surface. The coating composition may be configured to chemically bond with a cured primer composition that includes an epoxy.

FLUID FEED RING AND ASSOCIATED APPARATUS AND METHOD
A substrate coating apparatus is disclosed. The substrate coating apparatus comprises a substrate holder for holding a substrate vertically; a piston for introducing, by pushing or injecting, a liquid comprising a catalyst component into the substrate via or through open ends of the plurality of channels at a lower end of the substrate; a vacuum generator for applying a vacuum to open ends of the plurality of channels at an upper end of the substrate; and a fluid feed ring for supplying the liquid onto a face of the piston. The fluid feed ring comprises an annular body comprising an inner face bounding a central bore of the fluid feed ring; a fluid feed port for receiving the liquid; a plurality of outlet apertures on the inner face of the annular body for discharging the liquid onto the piston face; and a distribution channel extending at least part-way around the annular body which provides fluid communication between the fluid feed port and the plurality of outlet apertures.
Styrene-free copolymers and coating compositions containing such copolymers
An aqueous coating composition is provided that is preferably substantially free of styrene and structural units derived from styrene. The coating composition includes a resin system that preferably includes a water-dispersible polymer and an emulsion polymerized ethylenically unsaturated monomer component. The resin system is preferably formed using a process that includes emulsion polymerizing the ethylenically unsaturated monomer component in the presence of an aqueous dispersion including the water-dispersible polymer. In certain preferred embodiments, the water-dispersible polymer is a salt of an acid- or anhydride-functional aromatic polyether polymer.
Continuous vertical spraying of bodies such as cans
A vertical internal coating machine is taught, which may be used with bodies such as cans (2 piece, 3 piece, draw, redraw) and including cylinders, containers and any similar body. In the machine cans or similar bodies are sprayed with the star wheel in continuous motion without stopping and starting. The machine teaches that a plurality of spray guns may be provided for each pocket of the star wheel. By means of the machine an improved line layout is devised which may eliminate the need to raise the bodies immediately prior to a necker by allowing the vertical can internal coating machine and internal bake oven to be disposed on any level of the facility, upper, lower, mezzanine, etc. In green aspects, the machine may use negative pressure cabinets/hoods and positive pressure tunnels to entrain volatile organic chemicals emitted by the spray guns and coated bodies and may send these VOCs to a VOC destruction device, such as an oven.
OUTLET-COATED CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODIES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A coated ceramic honeycomb body comprising a honeycomb structure comprising a matrix of intersecting porous walls forming a plurality of axially-extending channels, at least some of the plurality of axially-extending channels being plugged to form inlet channels and outlet channels, wherein a total surface area of the outlet channels is greater than a total surface area of the inlet channels, and wherein a catalyst is preferentially located within the outlet channels. and preferentially disposed on non-filtration walls of the outlet channels. Methods and apparatus configured to preferentially apply a catalyst-containing slurry to the outlet channels and non-filtration walls are provided, as are other aspects.
AIR BARRIER MATERIAL APPLICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A post-cure inflation machine for processing a tire may include a tire holder shaft. The tire holder shaft may include a chuck to secure the tire to the tire holder shaft. A hollow passage may be defined in the tire holder shaft. A spray nozzle may be connected to a spray shaft that is telescopically disposed in the hollow passage of the tire holder shaft. The spray nozzle may extend to spray an air barrier material onto the tire.

Method of Pretreating a Pipeline or Apparatus
A method of operating a pipeline or apparatus is carried out by subjecting a pretreated component of a pipeline or apparatus to cathodic protection. The pretreated component is that having surfaces previously treated with a coating of a treatment composition of a colloidal particle dispersion having inorganic nanoparticles with an average particle size from 500 nm or less that exhibit properties of Brownian motion. At least some of the inorganic nanoparticles of the treatment composition are positively charged nanoparticles. The surfaces of the pretreated component are fresh surfaces or surfaces where any residues or deposits that have been previously formed on the surfaces from prior material contact have been removed prior to being treated.
