METHOD FOR FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM
This invention provides a method for forming a multilayer coating film, the method comprising forming a multilayer coating film that has excellent blackness, high reflectance of an infrared laser, and excellent coating film performance. The method for forming a multilayer coating film includes forming a first colored coating film containing a titanium oxide pigment, in which the diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 905 nm or diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 1550 nm, or both, is 40% or more; forming a second colored coating film containing at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of (A1) a perylene black pigment, (A2) a black metal oxide complex pigment, and (A3) two or more pigments selected from the group consisting of blue pigments, red pigments, yellow pigments, and green pigments; forming a third colored coating film containing a carbon black pigment; and forming a clear coating film; wherein the multilayer coating film has a lightness L*(45° of 3 or less and a chroma C*(45° of 1 or less, and wherein the diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 905 nm or the diffuse reflectance at a wavelength of 1550 nm of the multilayer coating film, or both, is 10% or more.

Described herein is a method of using organic carboxylic acids having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in preparation of aqueous basecoat materials for the purpose of improving the adhesion of the aqueous basecoat materials to overbaked clearcoat materials. Also described herein is a method for producing a muilticoat paint system, where a basecoat material is applied directly to an overbaked clearcoat film.
TWO-COAT SINGLE CURE POWDER COATING
Methods and systems for coating metal substrates are provided. The methods and systems include sequential application of low flow and high flow powder coatings followed by a single heating step to provide a cured coating. The methods and systems include a marker that allows coating uniformity to be monitored and assessed during application. The described methods provide coatings with optimal surface smoothness and edge coverage.

This method of manufacturing an outer case for a hot water unit involves a pressing step for subjecting a flat metal plate (30a) to press processing to form a component part (3) of the outer case (C), and a painting step for painting text, symbols, figures or patterns on the component part (3), wherein the painting step involves an inkjet printing step for forming an inkjet printing layer (4) by performing inkjet printing on the flat metal plate (30a). The pressing step is performed after the inkjet printing step, and after the pressing step, there is further a clear coating step for forming a clear layer (5) on the inkjet printing layer (4).

COMPOSITION FOR STEEL SHEET SURFACE COATING AND STEEL SHEET SURFACE-COATED WITH SAME
Provided is a composition for steel sheet surface coating, the composition comprising colloidal silica, a silane, a monomer, an organic resin, an acidity adjuster, a long-term corrosion-resistance improver, and a solvent; and a steel sheet coated with the composition. The steel sheet has excellent acid resistance, and maintains thickness uniformity thereof even when exposed to an acid for an extended period of time.

A method for forming a multilayer coating film, comprising a first aqueous coating composition application step of applying a first aqueous coating composition (A) to form an uncured first aqueous coating film; a second aqueous coating composition application step of applying a second aqueous coating composition (B) onto the uncured first aqueous coating film to form an uncured second aqueous coating film; a clear coating step of applying a clear coating composition (C) onto the uncured second aqueous coating film to form an uncured clear coating film; and a curing step of heat-curing at once these coating films to form a multilayer coating film, wherein the first aqueous coating composition (A) contains a water-dispersible polyurethane resin (a1) and a viscosity modifier (a2), and the second aqueous coating composition (B) contains water and an organic solvent as diluent components besides solid matters in a state of dilution to a coating viscosity.
