TWO-COMPONENT AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION FOR WOOD BASED SUBSTRATES AND ARTICLE MADE THEREFROM
The present disclosure relates to a two-component aqueous coating composition for wood based substrates and an article made therefrom. The aqueous coating composition includes (i) a primary agent, said primary agent including a) an aqueous polyurethane dispersion (PUD), b) an aqueous acrylic modified polyurethane (PUA), c) an aqueous liquid carrier, and d) additional additives; and ii) a curing agent composition, said curing agent composition including a hydrophilic modified aliphatic polyisocyanate, wherein a mass ratio of said primary agent to said curing agent composition is in the range of 100:5 to 100:20. The two-component aqueous coating composition of the present disclosure has a longer pot life, and a superior constructability and the coating formed therefrom has a particular excellent gloss stability.

A wet coating composition useful for coating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate is provided. The composition includes two aqueous emulsions. The first emulsion includes an oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax and the second emulsion includes an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic amide copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic acid/acrylic amide copolymer wax or a mixture thereof. The oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax has a surface energy less than or equal to 2 m N/m being substantially dispersive energy. The wet coating composition when dried forms a coating having a surface energy ranging from 20 to 60 m N/m being the sum of dispersive and polar energies. A process for treating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate with the wet coating composition, a substrate coated and articles including the coated substrate are also described. The process involves a heating step to allow migration of the coating towards a core of the cellulosic fiber-based substrate.
COMPOSITE PRODUCT
A composite product includes a solid wood component and a coating layer on at least one side of the solid wood component. The at least one side of the solid wood component has a wood grain. The coating layer includes at least one thermoplastic polymer and non-spherical pigment particles distributed within the coating layer. The coating layer has a surface pattern at least partly mimicking the wood grain.

COATING METHOD FOR PREVENTING BENDING PHENOMENON OF SUBSTRATE
The present invention relates to a coating method for preventing warpage of a substrate, and more specifically, to a coating method for preventing substrate warpage comprising forming two or more coating layers by coating the surface of a substrate with coating compositions having different densities, wherein at least one layer of the two or more coating layers is coated and cured with a coating composition containing a silsesquioxane composite polymer represented by a specific chemical formula, thereby not only preventing substrate warpage but also providing high surface hardness, excellent transparency, scratch resistance, water repellent characteristics, anti-fouling characteristics, anti-fingerprint property, thermal stability and gloss characteristics to the surface of the substrate.
Multifunctional coating films that can be applied in liquid form
Multifunctional coating films that can be applied in liquid form are provided for compressing, sealing, covering and preserving surfaces. The films include a composition of polysaccharide materials and/or homo- or heteroglycan water-soluble polysaccharide derivatives, polyol spacers, and crosslinkers with carbonyl or carboxylic function(s). As-applied, the composition is water-soluble and reactive, but after hardening it is capable of absorbing water or swelling, impermeable to water vapour, stable against water and UV and can be biologically degraded in a controlled manner. By reacting polysaccharide materials, polysaccharide derivatives and polyol spacers with cross linkers having carbonyl or carboxylic function(s), mechanically stable flexible films are obtained, which retain their mechanical properties up to a foreign material content of 80%. The films can swell in a controlled manner and can bind up to 75% water relative to their dry weight, corresponding to the degree of crosslinking and the spacer that is used.

Disclosed is the integration of the production of acetic anhydride from ketene, and the acetylation of wood using acetylation fluid comprising acetic acid and acetic anhydride. The invention involves recovering acetylation fluid from wood acetylation, and sending this to an acetic anhydride distillation unit belonging to the acetic anhydride production plant.
