Methods of conferring fire retardancy to wood and fire-retardant wood products
A process is provided for treating wood products including lumber, plywood and other engineered wood products comprising the steps of applying an aqueous fire-retardant impregnate and applying a coating to the surface of the wood product. In one embodiment, said process confers fire-retardant properties to the wood products sufficient to pass the extended burn test of ASTM E-84. The present invention also provides fire retardant wood products.
Floor board and method for manufacturing such floor boards
A floor board including a decorative surface layer applied to a substrate, where the substrate is optionally MDF or HDF material at a side edge thereof, and at least one side edge together with a side edge opposite thereto forming a first pair of opposite side edges of said substrate. The first pair of opposite side edges includes mechanical first and second coupling parts, respectively, allowing the floor board to be coupled at the respective side edges with a similar floor board. Also, a floor board covering consisting of a plurality of the floor boards and a method for manufacturing such floor boards.
Directly printed, coated panel
The present invention relates to a panel, in particular a wall-, ceiling or floor-panel, comprising a carrier layer (71) with a front side and a rear side, wherein the carrier layer (71) comprises at least at its front side as seen from the front side the following layers: a primer layer (72); a decor layer (73), comprising a polymerizable print color; and a polymer layer (74), which preferably comprises a hardness gradient.

WET COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR PAPER SUBSTRATES, PAPER SUBSTRATES COATED WITH THE SAME AND PROCESS FOR COATING A PAPER SUBSTRATE WITH THE SAME
A wet coating composition useful for coating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate is provided. The composition includes two aqueous emulsions. The first emulsion includes an oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax and the second emulsion includes an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic amide copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic acid/acrylic amide copolymer wax or a mixture thereof. The oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax has a surface energy less than or equal to 2 m N/m being substantially dispersive energy. The wet coating composition when dried forms a coating having a surface energy ranging from 20 to 60 m N/m being the sum of dispersive and polar energies. A process for treating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate with the wet coating composition, a substrate coated and articles including the coated substrate are also described. The process involves a heating step to allow migration of the coating towards a core of the cellulosic fiber-based substrate.
FUNCTIONAL TREATMENT APPLICATION TO PARTICULATE MATERIALS SUCH AS MULCH OR POTTING SOIL
In a method of coating a particulate material, a particulate material is fed into a mixing chamber. The particulate material is agitated within the mixing chamber and conveyed to a mixing chamber outlet. A coating is directed into the mixing chamber and the flow of the coating is controlled based on the volumetric flow rate of the particulate material into the mixing chamber. The coating includes at least one compound selected from herbicides, insecticides, nutrients, wetting agents, surfactants, fungicides, biologicals, inoculants, and mixtures thereof.
PVC-plastic panel
The present invention relates to a panel, in particular a wall, ceiling or floor panel, comprising a carrier layer made of a plastic material and a priming coat, wherein the priming coat comprises thereon an imprinted decorative pattern. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing such a panel and a usage of a specific primer in such a panel.
DEVICE FOR INSERTING A PLUGGING COMPOUND INTO AN OPENING
A device (1) for introducing a plugging compound (20) into a borehole (21), the device having a sleeve (2) with a cavity (3) for receiving the plugging compound (20). On one side, the sleeve (2) has a discharge opening (5), corresponding to the cavity (3), for discharging the plugging compound (20), and a support section (7), projecting laterally from the sleeve, for providing a support option for the sleeve (2) during introduction of the plugging compound (20). On the opposite side of the sleeve (2), an upper opening (4) is provided, through which a piston (16) together with a feed plate (18) protrudes into the cavity (3). The piston (16) is movable relative to the sleeve (2) in such a way that the feed plate (18) can be displaced in the cavity (3), for example to allow the plugging compound (20) to be received and dispensed.
TREATMENT OF WOOD WITH POLYORGANOSILOXANES
The present application relates to a process for treating a lignocellulosic material with at least one polyorganosiloxane compound, the polyorganosiloxane compound comprising a polyorganosiloxane backbone and at least one ammonium group residue of formula (I):
##STR00001## wherein R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 independently from each other signify linear, cyclic or branched, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.45 hydrocarbon residues optionally including one or more hetero atoms of O, S, N, signifies the binding site linking to the polyorganosiloxane backbone.
Composition for coating and sealing the edges of wood fibre boards
A composition for sealing/coating the edges of wood-fibre boards is provided.
