Method for Producing an Abrasion-Resistant Wood Composite Board, and Production Line Therefor
A method for producing an abrasion-resistant wood-based panel with a top side and a bottom side. At least one decorative layer, in particular as a printed decoration, is provided on the top side. The method includes applying at least one first resin layer to the at least one decorative layer on the top side of the wood-based panel, uniformly scattering abrasion-resistant particles onto the first resin layer on the top side of the wood-based panel. The first resin layer on the top side of the wood-based panel provided with the abrasion-resistant particles is not dried after application. The method also includes applying at least one second resin layer to the first, moist resin layer provided with the abrasion-resistant particles on the top side of the wood-based panel, and then drying the assembly of first resin layer and second resin layer on the top side of the wood-based panel in at least one drying apparatus.
WOOD ARTICLE AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE WOOD ARTICLE
The present disclosure relates to a wood article and a process for preparing the wood article. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a wood article comprising a wood substrate comprising acidic substances and having at least one major surface; an adhesion promoting layer directly applied on the major surface of the wood substrate; and a Michael Addition curing coating applied on the adhesion promoting layer, wherein the adhesion promoting layer is formed by a composition comprising a functional silane comprising amino and/or imino functional groups; and wherein the Michael Addition curing coating is formed from a two-component curable coating composition.
Wood treatment method
Disclosed is a method for treating a grained material. A nonlimiting example of the method includes the operations of providing a workpiece having grains, exasperating a surface of the workpiece to open the grains, applying at least one coat of a base paint to the exasperated surface, applying at least one layer of clear coat on the base paint, applying at least one of a glaze and a paint on the clear coat, and surface treating to reveal grains of the workpiece. Disclosed also are items of furniture and sheet materials treated by the aforementioned process.
Composition for preparing a release coating
A method of preparing a composition for forming a release coating is disclosed. The method comprises preparing a reaction product comprising a polyorganohydrogensiloxane compound having cyclic SiH-functional branching groups interconnected by linear polydiorganosiloxane segments (the “branched cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane compound”), by combining together (A) a hydroxyl terminated polydiorganosiloxane and (B) a cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane, in the presence of (C) a boron containing Lewis acid and a solvent. A release coating composition including the reaction product comprising the branched cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane is also disclosed. The reaction product may be combined with or prepared in the presence of a polyorganohydrogensiloxane diluent and stripped of solvent to prepare the composition as a blend of the branched cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane and the polyorganohydrogensiloxane diluent for use in solventless-curable compositions.
FIRE-RATED STRUCTURAL OSB PANELS WITH OVERLAID WATER-RESISTANT BARRIER
A wood or engineered wood structural panel, such as, but not limited to, OSB (“oriented strand board”) or plywood, that is both fire-resistant and water resistant. The panel is factory-coated with a product that provides fire resistance. The treatment gives it a Fire-Resistant (FR) performance (for use in a one- or two-hour rated assembly). The panel also is overlaid or coated in a factory setting with a weather/water resistive barrier (WRB). The structural panel thus combines a fire-resistant structural sheathing and WRB product in one integrated panel produced at a factory prior for installation at a job site.
Process for powder coating of objects
In a powder coating process, a primer step is implemented prior to electrostatically applying the powder coating, either in advance of preheating the object to be coated or subsequent thereto, depending upon the selection of materials used in the object to be coated, the primer material being diluted fabric softener applied in a fine mist spray or fog to the object.
COATING COMPOSITION AND WOOD ARTICLE MANUFACTURED THEREFROM
The present application relates to a coating composition and wood article manufactured therefrom, the coating composition comprising: (A) a film-forming resin composition comprising a reactive donor capable of providing two or more nucleophilic carbanions, and a reactive acceptor comprising two carbon-carbon double bonds; (B) a catalyst for catalyzing the Michael addition crosslinking reaction between the reactive donor and the reactive acceptor, wherein at least one of the reactive acceptor and the reactive donor comprises an aromatic ring structure, and wherein the polymer formed by homopolymerization of the reactive acceptor has a Tg of 100° C. or higher.
WOOD WITH STRENGTHENING COATING
An enhanced wood product includes a wooden board or plank having a length and at least three sides, the sides defining a polygonal cross section along the length of the wooden board or plank. A polyurethane-urea coating on at least two of the sides very substantially increases the strength of the wood product and various products made with coated wood.
Composition for Coating and Sealing the Edges of Wood Fibre Boards
A composition for sealing/coating the edges of wood-fibre boards is provided. The composition includes at least one compound of general formula R.sup.1.sub.aSiX.sub.(4-a) (I), and/or their hydrolysis products, X is H, OH or a hydrolyzable group selected from alkoxy-, aryloxy-, and acyloxy-, R.sup.1 is an organic radical selected from the group including alkyl, aryl, and cycloalkyl and R.sup.1 has at least one functional group Q.sub.1 selected from a hydroxy, amino, monoalkylamino, carboxy, mercapto, alkoxy, aldehyde, acrylic, acryloxy, methacrylic, methacryloxy, cyano, isocyano and epoxy group, and a=0, 1, 2, 3. The composition also includes at least one compound of general formula R.sup.2.sub.bSiX.sub.(4-b) (II), and/or their hydrolysis products X has the above meaning, R.sup.2 is a non-hydrolyzable organic radical selected from alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, and cycloalkenyl, and b=1, 2, 3, or 4. The composition also includes at least one aqueous polymer dispersion.
