TRANSFER FILM AND MEMBRANE COVERINGS FOR PANEL PRODUCTS
20200101710 · 2020-04-02 ·

A membrane covered panel and a membrane covered panel production method are provided wherein an elastomeric membrane, and preferably, an aqueous elastomeric resin-based membrane, is applied to a finished panel construct, prior to pressing of the membrane covered panel. The method is used to produce panels which can be used in the production of flooring materials, wall panels, furniture, countertops, and the like. The membrane is applied to a transfer film, which transfer film can be removed at any time prior to, or after the pressing operation. The panels produced have a durable but elastic surface which can protect the surfaces of the panel construct. The elastomeric covering on the panel construct also preferably provides a surface which is abrasion resistant, and provides better acoustical properties while providing a soft touch haptic surface.

PRESSABLE COATING SYSTEM FOR THE PRODUCTION OF PANEL PRODUCTS
20200030846 · 2020-01-30 ·

A panel and a panel production method are provided wherein an elastomeric coating, and preferably, a water-based elastomeric polyurethane coating, is applied to a pre-existing, finished panel construct, by pressing the coating onto the panel construct, and thereby bond the coating to the surface of the panel construct. The method is used to produce enhanced panels which can be used in the production of flooring materials, wall panels, furniture, countertops, and the like. The resultant panels typically have an enhanced surface that protects the surface layer of the panel construct. The coated panel can also be made abrasion resistant, and can also be enhanced so as to provide better acoustical properties while providing a soft touch, haptic surface.

Method for working surfaces of wood-based materials

The invention relates to a method for treating, especially levelling, at least one surface, preferably at least one flat side surface, of oriented strand boards (i.e. OSB wood composite boards) and also to the products obtainable in this way as well as to the uses thereof.

Device for inserting a plugging compound into an opening
10518290 · 2019-12-31 · ·

A device (1) for introducing a plugging compound (20) into a borehole (21), the device having a sleeve (2) with a cavity (3) for receiving the plugging compound (20). On one side, the sleeve (2) has a discharge opening (5), corresponding to the cavity (3), for discharging the plugging compound (20), and a support section (7), projecting laterally from the sleeve, for providing a support option for the sleeve (2) during introduction of the plugging compound (20). On the opposite side of the sleeve (2), an upper opening (4) is provided, through which a piston (16) together with a feed plate (18) protrudes into the cavity (3). The piston (16) is movable relative to the sleeve (2) in such a way that the feed plate (18) can be displaced in the cavity (3), for example to allow the plugging compound (20) to be received and dispensed.

Fire barrier building product and method and system for making same

Methods and processes for depositing a fire resistant barrier on a construction material involve coating exposed webbing of, for instance, an I-joist with a fire-resistant material using a wetting layer and a thickening layer. A time period between depositing the wetting layer and thickening layer is controlled to facilitate complete wetting of the exposed webbing. Filler such as fiberglass may be included in the thickening layer. The wetting and thickening layers may be deposited on the webbing in the same application. The construction material, such as the I-joist, may then be subjected to a curing treatment and additional curing period followed by coating the second side using a similar methodology.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A PANEL

A method is provided for manufacturing a panel. The method may involve supplying a substrate having an upper side. A layer may be provided onto the upper side. The upper side may be irradiated so as to cure at least a part of the layer by irradiation, hence forming the panel. The layer may include a liquid coating on substantially the entire upper side and a substance which is digitally printed locally on the upper side. The substance and the liquid coating may cooperate such that either (1) the coating and the substance react with each other, whereas the substance is a liquid that is printed on the upper side before the coating is applied and wherein the substance and the coating have different surface tensions, or (2) the coating is non-curable or only curable to a limited extent by the irradiation, whereas the substance makes the coating curable by the irradiation at locations where they meet each other.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CLEANING A COATING MATERIAL
20240100570 · 2024-03-28 ·

Device (1) for cleaning a coating material (2), in particular a coating material (2) provided on a workpiece (4), the workpiece (4) preferably consisting at least in parts of wood, wood materials or plastic, comprising a cleaning element (10) for removing soilings from the coating material (2), a conveying unit (20) for causing a relative movement between the cleaning element (10) and the coating material (2), and a cleaning agent application unit (30, 30) for applying a preferably liquid cleaning agent to the cleaning element (10).

Process for powder coating of objects

In a powder coating process, a primer step is implemented prior to electrostatically applying the powder coating, either in advance of preheating the object to be coated or subsequent thereto, depending upon the selection of materials used in the object to be coated, the primer material being diluted fabric softener applied in a fine mist spray or fog to the object.

Triphenylphosphine-containing coatings with enhanced adhesion to unprimed surfaces

A curable resin composition may include a component having two or more active methylene groups and/or active methine groups, a component having at least two ,-unsaturated carbonyl groups, and a triphenylphosphine catalyst that promotes a Michael reaction between the other two components. The composition can be used to coat metal substrates and can exhibit particularly good performance characteristics when applied to unprimed, bare metal surfaces.

Methods of conferring fire retardancy to wood and fire-retardant wood products
