The method satisfies at least: (A) the quantity of isocyanate at the interface between a coated article and the primer coating film is 1.5 parts by mass or less, relative to 100 parts by mass of resin solids in a primer coating material; or (B) the quantity of isocyanate at the interface between the primer coating film and the base coating film is 3.5 parts by mass or less, relative to 100 parts by mass of resin solids in a base coating material.
