PREFORM COATING DEVICE
A preform coating device is provided with: a conveyance part that conveys a preform; a dispenser that discharges a coating liquid toward the preform; a drier that is disposed along the conveyance route of the conveyance part so as to be separated from the dispenser, and that dries the coating liquid applied to the preform by irradiating, with infrared rays, the coating liquid applied to the preform; and a first air sending mechanism that sends air, toward the preform, for inhibiting the temperature of the preform from rising at the position where the preform is irradiated with infrared rays by the drier.
APPARATUS AND METHODS USING COATINGS FOR METAL APPLICATIONS
An apparatus and methods for using coatings for metal applications are disclosed. According to one embodiment, an article comprises a cured polymeric film having a first reaction product of a cationic photoinitiator and a compound suitable for cationic polymerization. The article has a second reaction product of a free-radical photoinitiator and a compound suitable for free-radical polymerization; The article has a metal substrate, wherein the cured polymeric film coats the metal substrate.
Method of manufacturing a heating article provided with a sol-gel coating
A method of manufacturing an item, notably a culinary item, includes: providing a support in the form of a preform; preparing a sol-gel composition; hydrolyzing the sol-gel precursor, followed by a condensation reaction; applying onto at least one support surface of the preform at least one layer of the sol-gel composition to form a sol-gel coating layer; and thermally treating the sol-gel coating layer to solidify the coating layer. Further, before thermally treating the sol-gel coating, the method includes pre-densifying the coated preform and stamping the preform to produce a final form of the culinary item.
Steel Protective Coating Compositions, Methods of Their Manufacture, and Methods of Their Use
Steel sheet coating compositions or polymeric resin or ceramic properties are produced by admixing an aluminum coordinate complex and an aluminum resin, a polysilazane as a source of silicon, an organic solvent, an organic synthesis catalyst, and a non-metallic, non-ionic, low-nucleophilic base. The admixed coating is applied to sheet steel prior to hot-stamping in order to inhibit formation of iron oxides and to improve steel sheet surface characteristics.
Method of manufacturing outer case for hot water unit
This method of manufacturing an outer case for a hot water unit involves a pressing step for subjecting a flat metal plate (30a) to press processing to form a component part (3) of the outer case (C), and a painting step for painting text, symbols, figures or patterns on the component part (3), wherein the painting step involves an inkjet printing step for forming an inkjet printing layer (4) by performing inkjet printing on the flat metal plate (30a). The pressing step is performed after the inkjet printing step, and after the pressing step, there is further a clear coating step for forming a clear layer (5) on the inkjet printing layer (4).
Fluorine free anti-stick coating and method for its production
Disclosed is a non-stick coating for an article, particularly for a baking pan or other household and utility item, comprises at least a base layer (G) burnt onto a surface (O) of the article and a covering layer (D) burnt above the base layer. The base layer and the covering layer each have a dry film thickness of 1 to 25 ?m, wherein the base layer contains 10 to 100 wt.-%, related to the weight of the burnt base layer, of a thermoplastic resin having a temperature resistance exceeding 200? C., and wherein the covering layer contains a thermoplastic resin having a temperature resistance exceeding 200? C. and optionally a silicone resin. Both the base layer and also the covering layer are free of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds. Due to the fact that the covering layer comprises a content of thermoplastic resin of at least 30 wt.-%, related to the weight of the burnt covering layer, and of at least 2.5 wt.-%, related to the weight of the burnt covering layer, of a silicone oil, novel fluorine-free non-stick coatings with good substrate adhesion and very good deep-drawing properties are obtained. In a process for applying the non-stick coating, the base layer to be formed is applied as a liquid varnish onto the surface of the article and subsequently dried at 250 to 440? C., subsequently the covering layer is applied as liquid varnish onto the predried base layer, and finally the layers are bonded to each other and to the surface of the article by means of heat treatment at 250 to 440? C.
Container coating compositions
A coating composition comprising a polyester, a mixture of novolak and resole resins and a vinyl chloride polymer, and the use of these compositions to coat metal containers is disclosed.
Composite Al material for drawn and ironed can
Provided is a composite Al material for a drawn and ironed can from which a drawn and ironed can having brightness can be formed. In a resin coated metal plate used for forming a drawn and ironed can, a first resin layer (20) having a thickness of 0.02 to 2 m is formed on a surface of an Al plate 10 which forms an outer surface of the can, and a second resin layer 30 having a thickness of 1 to 40 m is formed on a surface of the Al plate 10 which forms an inner surface of the can. In a penetration test using a TMA device, an insertion amount of a quartz pin when a load of 5 g is applied to the first resin layer at a temperature of 100 C. is 20% or less of a film thickness of the first resin layer. Further, the first resin layer has a room temperature of 10 N/mm.sup.2 or more.
METHODS OF COATING SUBSTRATES AND COATED SUBSTRATES
Methods of coating powder coating compositions, particularly substrate powder coating compositions, and methods of making a substrate container, a portion thereof, or a closure for a container, and powder coating systems.
Method for manufacturing coated can lids
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing coated can lids from aluminum strip, and is based on the finding that flexible, easily formable coatings having high abrasion resistance result from the use of water-based lacquers containing a copolymer or a copolymer mixture of at least one aliphatic, acyclic alkene with at least one ,-unsaturated carboxylic acid in water-dispersed form, and a curing system. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the application of a primer coating can be dispensed with entirely when water-soluble compounds of the elements Zr and/or Ti in the lacquer are used as the curing system.
