The improved methods provide the steps of the operation of the improved ultrasound apparatus, and the improved ultrasound apparatus includes the microprocessor unit and control organs unit, which provide control of an ultrasound unit, comprising piezoelectric devices, a transmission unit, a battery unit, including battery and battery wireless charging control circuitry, indication unit, and includes a card insertion registration device recognizing the presence of a removable memory card in the ultrasound probe.
MICROMACHINED ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCER WITH PEDESTAL
An ultrasonic transducer is described. The ultrasonic transducer comprises a membrane and a substrate disposed opposite the membrane such that a cavity is formed therebetween. The substrate comprises an electrode region and pedestals protruding from a surface of the substrate and having a height greater than a height of the electrode region, the pedestals being electrically isolated from the electrode region.
Method and system to prevent depoling of ultrasound transducer
An ultrasound system, probe and method are provided. The ultrasound system includes a transducer with piezoelectric transducer elements polarized in a poling direction. A bipolar transmit circuit is configured to generate a transmit signal having first and second polarity segments. The first and second polarity segments have corresponding first and second peak amplitudes. A bias generator is configured to generate a bias signal in a direction of the poling direction. The bias signal is combined with the transmit signal to form a biased transmit signal that is shifted in the direction of the poling direction and still includes both of positive and negative voltages over a transmit cycle.
Piezoelectric transducer condition monitoring
An industrial process field device includes a piezoelectric transducer, a sensor circuit, a test circuit, a controller and a communications circuit. The sensor circuit generates a sensor signal indicating a process variable based on a voltage across the piezoelectric transducer. The test circuit is configured to apply a voltage pulse having a pulse voltage to the piezoelectric transducer that induces a response signal, and capture peak positive and negative voltages of the response signal. The controller calculates a current condition value of the piezoelectric transducer based on the peak positive voltage, the peak negative voltage and the pulse voltage, and generates a diagnostic test result based on a comparison of the current condition value to a reference condition value corresponding to a properly operating piezoelectric transducer. The communications circuit communicates the process variable and the diagnostic test result to an external control unit over a process control loop.
ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER HEALTH STATUS MONITOR
An ultrasonic-based system includes a transmitter and receiver, an ultrasonic transducer including ≥1 piezoelectric element having a matching layer thereon connected to the transmitter. A controller is coupled to the transmitter. The transmitter is for driving the piezoelectric element with a pulsed electrical signal, where the piezoelectric element transmits a transmit ultrasonic signal. A current/voltage measurement circuit is coupled to sense a current or voltage in the transmitter. The controller is for implementing an algorithm for an ultrasonic transducer monitoring method including comparing an amplitude of the pulsed signal to a predetermined limit. When the pulsed signal is determined to be outside the limit, an impedance of the piezoelectric element is determined to be abnormal. When the pulsed signal is within the limit, the amplitude of the received signal is compared to a lower limit, which when below results in determining a cleaning operation for the ultrasonic transducer is needed.
ULTRASONIC SENSOR WITH INTEGRATED THERMAL STABILIZATION
Ultrasonic sensing approaches are described with integrated MEMS-CMOS implementations. Embodiments include ultrasonic sensor arrays for which PMUT structures of individual detector elements are at least partially integrated into the CMOS ASIC wafer. MEMS heating elements are integrated with the PMUT structures by integrating under the PMUT structures in the CMOS wafer and/or over the PMUT structures (e.g., in the protective layer). For example, embodiments can avoid wafer bonding and can reduce other post processing involved with conventional manufacturing of PMUT ultrasonic sensors, while also improving thermal response.
