A device for separating the constituents of a fluid medium includes an element for separating the constituents, helping to define, upstream and/or downstream from the separation element, a closed chamber, to which at least one conduit is connected. The conduit includes at least one activatable sealing device, the activation of which is capable of at least partially closing and opening the conduit. The device also includes a controller for the activation of the sealing device, controlling the closing and opening, at least partially, of the conduit cyclically, at a frequency greater than 0.008 Hz.
Method and apparatus for grading and washing sand
A method of grading and washing sand including the steps of removing oversize material from a feed material to which water is added on a first grading screen, whereby the oversize material passes over a downstream end of an apertured deck of the first grading screen, undersize material and water passing through the apertured deck being collected in a sump of the first grading screen before being passed onto an apertured deck of a second grading screen having apertures of a smaller size than those of the deck of the first grading screen, oversize material passing over a downstream end of the second grading screen, pumping water and undersize material from a sump of the second grading screen to a washing stage to remove fine contaminants therefrom.
PACKAGING AND PRODUCTS MADE USING SPENT GRAINS
Methods and systems are provided for processing constituent materials from brewer's spent grains (BSG) for making packaging and/or products. The spent grains are arranged into a set of balanced constituent materials of approximately 80% to 90% grains, 10% to 20% hops, and less than 1% of spices by weight. This set of constituent materials is then formed into products, such as paper and packaging. The paper can be used to create labels or other carriers for beverages, especially for bottled beverages.
Apparatuses, methods, and systems for vibratory screening
Disclosed embodiments include a removable support structure for a vibratory screening machine. The removable support structure is a single structure including one or more of plastic, metal, and composite materials and may be configured to provide mechanical support to one or more screening assemblies of the vibratory screening machine. The removable support structure may further be configured to be removably fastened to the vibratory screening machine. The removable support structure may be a single thermoplastic injection molded piece or may be a single injection molded piece that includes nylon, carbon, and graphite. The removable support structure may have a concave shape that is configured to mechanically support a screening assembly held under compression or may have a convex shape that is configured to mechanically support a screening assembly held under tension. A disclosed wear protective covering, made of a flexible material, provides wear protection to the removable support structure.
Separation device
A separation device having a housing (10) with a feed conduit (1) and a reject conduit (2), between which conduits (1, 2) and an accept conduit (3) of the housing (10) is a rotor unit (13) having a shaft (4) transverse to the through-flow direction of the separation device, which shaft rotates discs (5) attached to the shaft (4), the outer surface and/or side surfaces of which discs are jagged, i.e. they have protrusions (6) and/or notches and/or these surfaces are substantially rough and the teeth (9) of at least two sieves (7, 8) attached to the housing (10), extend between the discs (5), the first sieve (7) being between the reject conduit (2) and the accept conduit (3) and the second sieve (8) being between the feed conduit (1) and the accept conduit (3).
MATERIAL EXTRACTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for processing compounds having constituent materials of different mechanical characteristics to extract their constituent materials. The system includes (a) a grinder configured to grind a bulk compound material into an initial mixture of tiny particles; (b) a preimpact separator configured to separate the particles into two groups based on their respective mechanical properties, one group being a preimpact mixture comprising the compound particles; (c) a kinetic impactor configured to impact, via an acoustic shockwave, the compound particles of the preimpact mixture, thereby creating a postimpact mixture comprising (i) subparticles of 1.sup.st-constituent-material and (ii) reduced-compound particles comprising a 2nd constituent material; and (d) a postimpact separator configured to separate the reduced compound particles from the postimpact mixture based on a mechanical property.
WOOD CHIP SORTER SCREEN AND RELATED METHODS OF SORTING WOOD CHIPS
A chip sorting screen utilizing a plurality of shaped wire elements sized and spaced to allow for efficient sorting of wood chips and fiber elements. The chip sorting screen includes an upper surface formed of shaped wire elements arranged in parallel relationship to define slots between adjacent shaped wire elements. Each shaped wire element is mounted to a support member 10 define an upper surface. The mounting orientation of the shaped ware element to the support members can be consistent along a screen length or alternatively, the mounting orientation can change along the screen length to selectively vary sorting performance by varying slot size along the sorting screen. A height of each shaped wire element or an angle by which a leading edge of the shaped wire element is presented to the conveying path, can be selectively adjusted to increase wood chip turbulence across the sorting screen.
High-efficiency water-saving separation screen for starch slurry and residue and separation method
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of food equipment design and processing, and provides a high-efficiency water-saving separation screen for starch slurry and residue which includes a horizontal screen drum, a screen mesh, a screw propelling extrusion rod, a rotation drive unit and a flushing spray pipe; one side of the horizontal screen drum is provided with a feeding inlet, and the other side of the horizontal screen drum is provided with a slurry outlet and a residue outlet; the screen mesh is in a cone shape, and the cross-sectional diameter of the screen mesh gradually decreases from the feeding inlet to the residue outlet; the screw propelling extrusion rod is arranged in the screen mesh and includes a screw propelling extrusion rod shaft and a screw blade; the rotation drive unit drives the screen mesh and the screw propelling extrusion rod to rotate in opposite directions; and the flushing spray pipe is used for flushing slurry and residue on the screen drum. The present disclosure further provides a separation method adopting the aforementioned separation screen. The synergistic effects of mechanical disturbance and hydraulic overflow washing and screening are simultaneously exerted by the screen, compared with traditional curved surface screens and high-speed centrifugal screens, the usage amount of clean water and the generation amount of wastewater can be reduced, and the concentration of obtained starch slurry is increased; and the moisture content of potato residue extruded and separated out by the screen is low, and thus subsequent utilization is facilitated.
