20220410216 · 2022-12-29 ·

The disclosure relates to a method for the analysis and/or sorting of scrap metal, more particularly of scrap aluminium, in which a quantity of scrap metal, more particularly aluminium scrap, in the form of a scrap bundle or a group of scrap bundles is provided, in which method the scrap bundle or the group of scrap bundles is irradiated by at least one neutron source, the gamma radiation emitted by the scrap bundle or by the group of scrap bundles is captured by at least one detector, and composition information relating to the composition of the scrap bundle or the group of scrap bundles is determined on the basis of the gamma radiation captured by the at least one detector. The disclosure further relates to a device for analysing and/or sorting scrap metal.

System and a method for processing meat pieces

A system for processing meat pieces includes a radiation inspection apparatus configured to receive a primary stream of meat pieces conveyed by a conveyor and to detect trim products containing undesired objects; a reject device; a control unit configured to operate the reject device using the detected undesired objects as an operation parameter such that the meat pieces containing the undesired objects are separated from the primary stream of trim products; an object remover configured to remove the undesired objects from the meat pieces separated from the primary stream of trim products; and a recirculation apparatus configured to receive the meat pieces after undergoing the object remover and recirculate it as a secondary stream into the radiation inspection apparatus. The secondary stream is separated from the primary stream, and the radiation inspection is configured to detect whether any remaining undesired objects are in the secondary stream.

Systems and methods for separating objects using vacuum diverts with one or more object processing systems

A distribution system for use in an induction system with an object processing system. The distribution system provides dissimilar objects into one of a plurality of receiving units. The distribution system includes an air intake system with an opening that is a fixed distance from a conveyor section, said air intake system aiding in moving an object on the conveyor section from the conveyor section to one of a plurality of adjacent transport units.

Method and system for marking and encoding recyclability of material to enable automated sorting of recycled items
11524318 · 2022-12-13 ·

A method and system for marking and encoding recyclability includes material identification markers to enable a robot with computer vision capability to properly identify and distinguish between various materials. The material identification markers could include marks or symbols to describe a recyclable item or material. The material identification markers may be incorporated into the design of the item, printed on the item or label, or placed in any other way as this is a vision-based system. Further, the material identification markers may be visible or invisible to the human eye.

METHOD OF IDENTIFYING AN ITEM, WASTE SEPARATION AND ITEM COMPRISING A DOT CODE

A method of identifying an item includes: capturing by a camera an image of the item, searching in the image a predefined dot start and end codes, determining in the image directions of the predefined dot start and end codes, interpolating in the image a reading line to extend from the predefined dot start code to the predefined dot end code, where a direction of the reading line at the predefined dot start code corresponds to the direction of the predefined dot start code, where the direction of the reading line at the predefined dot end code corresponds to the direction of the predefined dot end code, reading along the reading line the dots from the image, and deriving the identification code from the dots as read along the reading line between the predefined dot start code and the predefined dot end code.

Systems and methods for sorting of seeds

Systems for sorting seeds are disclosed, as well as batches of seeds that have been sorted using the systems.

Multiple mail piece assembly and wrapping system

A computer controlled mail piece assembly and wrapping system discloses a process for culling candidate mail pieces from bulk mail pieces, a mail piece feeder, a mail piece reader coupled to the feeder that identifies suitable candidate mail pieces, a collator coupled to the feeder for collating multiple identified mail pieces, a buffer coupled to the collator for regulating the delivery rate of the multiple mail pieces exiting to a wrap inserter, a wrap inserter coupled to the buffer for wrapping mail pieces and selected inserts into a mailing container, a printer interfaced with the wrap inserter for printing information onto the mailing container; an outstacker coupled to the wrap inserter for transferring envelope wrapped mail pieces and selected inserts to a desired location, and a computer with suitable programming for operating the system.

Systems and methods for waste item detection and recognition

Embodiments described herein relate to hardware and software for waste item detection and recognition, along with an education or feedback system. Embodiments described herein use artificial intelligence, which embodies machine learning and computer vision, to detect waste items and generate feedback to nudge the user to dispose the waste items into appropriate receptacles while generating smart operational insights of a designated premise.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CONTAINERS, IN PARTICULAR MADE OF GLASS AND RELATED APPARATUS
20220362812 · 2022-11-17 · ·

Method for controlling the mechanical strength of a container, in particular made of glass, by means of a control apparatus which provides for actuating the control on a control zone extending along an entire circumferential perimeter of the outer surface of the container in which it provides for forwarding the container according to a forwarding direction, simultaneously rotating the container about the axis of symmetry thereof orthogonal to the forwarding direction, then controlling the container during the rotation, exerting a control pressure onto the control zone, said control being divided into several steps, in which in each step it is provided to exert said control pressure on a respective portion of the control zone and which provides that each single container is subjected in sequence to each step during the forwarding thereof and the rotation thereof.
