Single-stream sorting systems and methods
Various arrangements involving a single-stream sorting system are presented, such as for use in sorting a single stream of recyclable materials. The single-stream sorting system may include a platform for an operator to stand on. The single-stream sorting system may include a circular conveyor that rotates in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to move the stream of items around the platform. The single-stream sorting system may include a plurality of item collector chutes arranged in a circular pattern around an outer circumference of the circular conveyor. The stream of items deposited on the conveyor is rotated around the circular platform and proximate to each item collector chute of the plurality of item collector chutes to allow items from the stream of items to be moved from the circular conveyor into the plurality of item collector chutes.
Method and mechanism to automate mail sweeping
Presently disclosed embodiments are directed to a process and mechanism for reducing human error and manual labor used to sweep pockets on a mail sorting machine. Specifically, the disclosed embodiments utilize a sliding drawer holding a receiving container that can mate in a flush arrangement with an output pocket of a mail sorting machine. Thus, sweeping of mail product from the output pocket to the receiving container can be accomplished in one motion that empties the entire output pocket into the receiving container. This sweeping may be performed by an operator without any errors caused by sweeping to an incorrect receiving container or issues caused by dropping sorted mail product and picking it back up in a different order.
Portable storage container
According to various embodiments of the disclosed technology, disclosed is a kit for storing a substance and one or more tools for preparing the substance for recreational or medicinal use. The kit may include a body with a first end and a second end; a grinder compartment positioned next the second end of the body, where the grinder compartment is configured to rotate about the body; at least a first item compartment and a second item compartment located in the body for storing tools needed to prepare a substance for recreational or medicinal use; a storage compartment for storing the substance; and a sidewall attached to a side of the body such that the sidewall slides in an upward and downward direction.
Device and method for detecting the handling of at least one object
The invention concerns a device for detecting the handling of at least one object, the device including a deformable enclosure, to which are attached at least one sensor for the detection of a grasping of objects and at least one wireless radio transmitter, the sensor being able to provide either one from among a first signal for detection of the grasping of an object and a second signal for detection of the absence of grasping of an object. The invention is characterized in that the transmitter includes first means for wireless radio transmission of a third signal, allowing determination of a localization of the enclosure towards a receiver remote from the deformable enclosure, as well as second means for wireless radio transmission of the first or second signal towards said receiver.

Systems and methods for scanning information from storage area contents
The present invention is related to methods and systems for collected item information for stored items. In one embodiment, a networked food storage system comprises a first sensor configured to read information from item tags coupled to items, wherein the items are stored or intended to be stored in a storage unit. A data store is configured to store food preferences for at least a first user. Instructions, stored in computer readable memory, are configured to: cause a first user interface to be displayed to the first user via which the first user can request a meal suggestion; retrieve preference information for the first user from computer readable memory; retrieve information read from at least a first item tag; and provide a meal suggestion based at least in part on preference information for the first user and item tag information.
