COMMINGLING OPTIMIZATION OF MAIL
A processing system and method for nationwide commingling of mail item to increase efficiency and lower mailing costs includes a pre-sort facility which creates a first set of diverted mail items and a first set of associated data while a print and mail manufacture facility generates a second set of manufactured mail items and a second set of associated data and then receives the first set of diverted mail items and first set of associated data from the pre-sort facility and then commingles the first and second sets of mail items according to a predetermined set of commingling rules applied to the first and second sets of associated data to produce commingled mail items which reduces postal costs in mailing the commingled mail item

System and method to process return-to-sender (RTS) mail
A method for processing return-to-sender (RTS) mail pieces by a mail processing system. The method includes receiving a plurality of RTS cards and RTS mail pieces. The RTS cards identify RTS reason codes for corresponding ones of the RTS mail pieces. The method includes imaging each RTS mail piece to produce an image. The method includes creating and storing a unique RTS mail piece profile of for each error RTS mail piece that uses an identification code for that RTS mail piece and a reason code from a preceding RTS card. The method includes sorting the RTS cards to a first output bin and sorting the error RTS mail pieces to a second output bin. The method includes thereafter processing the error RTS mail pieces using the corresponding RTS mail piece profiles and without using the RTS cards.

Routing of an unknown mail item
Apparatus, methods, media and code for routing a mail item part are provided. A receiver may receive an image of the mail item part. A processor may decompose a segment of the mail item part into a string vector; quantify a first closeness between the string vector and a first library vector that corresponds to a first mail item part destination; and quantify a second closeness between the string vector and a second library vector that corresponds to a second mail item part destination; and link to the image routing information to route the mail item part to that of the first and second mail item part destinations that corresponds to the greatest of the first and second closeness. A transmitter may transmit the image to that of the first and second mail item part destinations that corresponds to the greatest of the first and second closeness.
Smart conveyor belt service
A smart conveyor belt web service is provided. A network device generates recipes for multiple orders. Each recipe provides sorting instructions for a conveyor system. The network device transfers an identifier for a first recipe to a queue of active recipes and sends the first recipe to a server device for the conveyor system. The network device receives a recipe-complete status message indicating completion of the first recipe. The network device deletes the indicator for the first recipe from the queue based on receiving the recipe-complete status message and transfers a second recipe to the queue of active recipes to initiate processing of another order.
PARCEL SEPARATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present disclosure relates to a parcel separation system and method. The parcel separation system includes a goods distribution zone connected to at least two automatic feeding lines. The goods distribution zone is configured to convey a plurality of parcels to the at least two automatic feeding lines. Each of the automatic feeding lines is sequentially provided with a stacked parcel separation zone, a parallel separation zone, a centering and double-removal zone, a wheel loading zone, an abnormal parcel assembly line, a goods import zone, a feeding platform loading zone, and a five-sided scanning and code-reading zone. The parcel separation method is performed by the parcel separation system.
