The ceiling of the passage includes a stepped profile defining at least two upper contact surfaces that the top of the plug in elements may contact, such that the vertical distances between the base contact surface and the respective upper contact surfaces differ, whereby plug in elements of at least two different thicknesses can be accommodated and suspended within the passage.

The one-piece front panel has a wall curved multiple times, a first end portion which supports the chamber, and a base connected to the other end of the wall. The base at least jointly forms a channel with a second end portion of the curved wall and a mounting plane. An item of furniture having a front panel is also provided.
