To provide a cleaner capable of easily cleaning the side surface of a pin of an optical connector.

There is provided an optical connector end surface cleaner 10A, including: a cleaning tape 11 to be contacted with the end surface of an optical connector 20; and a receiving part 14A in which at least one pin insertion recess 15A into which at least one pin 22 of the optical connector 20 is capably inserted is formed, wherein a part of the cleaning tape 11 is inserted into the at least one pin insertion recess 15A together with the at least one pin 22 by being pressed by the at least one pin 22 to be inserted into the at least one pin insertion recess 15A of the receiving part 14A, and is interposed between an inner wall surface of the at least one pin insertion recess 15A and a side surface of the at least one pin 22.

Integrated pin and socket fiber optic cleaner tip

A cleaning module adapted to clean a socket style ferrule or a pin style ferrule of a connector includes a tip assembly extending from a housing comprising a tip adapted to receive a cleaning media. A retractable alignment sleeve sized to surround the pin style ferrule has a larger outer diameter than an inner diameter of a socket opening and moves along the tip assembly when the first end presses against a surface of the connector. A sleeve spring engages with a portion of the tip assembly and a first end of the retractable alignment sleeve. The tip assembly includes a block movably secured within a portion of the housing. A main spring may be engaged with the housing and engaged with an end portion of the block, wherein the sleeve spring has both a spring constant and total compressive force that are lower than that of the main spring.

CLEANING STICK GUIDE

A cleaning stick guide for an optical housing having ferrules therein. The cleaning stick guide includes a guide housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The guide housing includes an insert portion sized and shaped to be inserted into the optical housing. The insert portion defines the distal end of the guide housing. The guide housing includes guide passageways. Each guide passageway extends from the proximal end to the distal end. Each guide passageway is arranged in the guide housing to align with one of the ferrules in the optical housing when the guide housing is inserted into the optical housing. Each guide passageway is sized and shaped to receive a cleaning stick and to guide the cleaning stick to said one ferrule for cleaning the ferrule.

Integrated equipment for processing fiber optic ferrule

An integrated equipment for processing a plurality of fiber optic ferrules comprises a polishing system, a ferrule cleaning system, a drying system, a wiping system, and a robot system. The polishing system polishes a plurality of front end faces of the plurality of fiber optic ferrules mounted on a carrier. The ferrule cleaning system cleans the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules on the carrier after the fiber optic ferrules have been polished. The drying system dries the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules on the carrier after the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules have been cleaned. The wiping system wipes the front end faces of the fiber optic ferrules on the carrier after the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules have been dried. The robot system transfers the carrier to the polishing system, the ferrule cleaning system, the drying system, and the wiping system.

Interferometric system with motion mechanism for inspecting multi-channel fiber optic connectors

A lightweight miniature interferometric device for interferometric inspection of circular multi-channel fiber optic connectors that includes the interferometric microscope, holding fixture, multi-axis motion mechanism and computing device. The system performs an interferometric inspection of multi-channel fiber optic connector. The method of interferometric inspection provides automatic scan of the multi-channel fiber optic connector, reconstructing 3D surfaces of fiber optic termini of the connector and analyzing its parameters. The system connects to the connector by holding fixture and performs an interferometric inspection of each fiber optic terminus of the connector by means of multi-axis motion mechanism.

Gel stick cleaner with reusable handle and disposable cartridge

A cleaning device is provided for removing debris from an end surface of a fiber optic connector. The fiber optic connectors may be a Multi Push On (MPO) or Mechanical Transfer (MT). The end surface may have a one or more ferrules with a fiber optic glass cable. The cleaning device includes a housing with a first end open to a gel that adheres to debris. A second end of the housing may be releasably attached to a protrusion or handle to insert and remove the device from an adapter receptacle. The handle may be replaced with a plug frame and protrusion so the device may be inserted into the receptacle of the adapter. The device may be placed over the end surface of the fiber optic connector that is not inserted into an adapter receptacle.

A cleaning tool for cleaning an optical connector includes: a head that presses a cleaning unit against the optical connector; a supply reel that supplies the cleaning unit to the head; and a take-up reel that collects the cleaning unit from the head. The supply reel and the take-up reel are disposed rotatably about a common rotation shaft.

Cleaning tool

A cleaning tool for cleaning a plurality of optical connectors where the cleaning tool includes: an adhesive portion that is integrally formed with the cleaning tool and that contacts a plurality of connecting end faces of the optical connectors collectively. The plurality of optical connectors are inserted into and connected with one housing that is fitted with another housing. The adhesive portion is disposed on the other housing. The adhesive portion contacts the connecting end faces collectively by fitting the one housing with the other housing.

TREATING AN OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE

There is provided a method (500) of treating an optical waveguide. The method comprises applying (502) the volume of ferrofluid to the optical waveguide, and applying (504) a magnetic field to the volume of ferrofluid to move the volume of ferrofluid at least partially along a length of the optical waveguide. A personal care device and a system are also disclosed.
