Systems and methods for recycling post-consumer polyester-based fabric
11312837 · 2022-04-26 ·

Methods for recycling post-consume polyester-based fabric materials such as hospital linens. The methods include decontaminating a post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) product and polymerizing the decontaminated PET product via solid state polymerization to generate a polymerized PET product. The post-consumer PET product may include a polyester-based fabric. The post-consumer PET product may retain essentially the same shape and form during and after recycling and decontamination as before recycling.

Abuse potential reduction in abusable substance dosage form

The potential for substance abuse involving residual amounts of abusable substances remaining in used skin-worn patches is reduced by the provision of a system and method for combining the abusable substance with a separate anti-abuse substance agent as part of a removal or disposal procedure.

Pharmaceutical waste system

A pharmaceutical waste system for treating a residual pharmaceutical composition disposed in a pharmaceutical dispenser includes an extraction stage, a pharmaceutical dispenser coupler, and a pharmaceutical waste treatment stage. The extraction stage is in fluid communication with the pharmaceutical dispenser and is configured to extract at least a portion of the residual pharmaceutical composition from the pharmaceutical dispenser. The pharmaceutical dispenser coupler is configured to couple the pharmaceutical dispenser to the extraction stage. The pharmaceutical waste treatment stage is in fluid communication with the extraction stage and is configured to change the residual pharmaceutical waste composition extracted from the pharmaceutical dispenser in one of a chemical and physical manner. The present disclosure also provides a method of disposing of a residual pharmaceutical composition from a pharmaceutical dispenser.

Multifunction molecular energizer apparatuses and methods of using same

A treatment system, including at least one of: a solid waste material treatment module with the capabilities of disinfecting, sterilizing and/or destruction of potentially hazardous materials; a liquid waste material treatment module; and, a gaseous waste material treatment module, wherein the solid, liquid and gaseous material treatment modules can be used separately or selectably interconnectable to each other.

Methods for cannabis waste disposal
11179757 · 2021-11-23 · ·

Systems and methods for rendering cannabis-related waste materials are provided. The method may include inserting a plurality of cannabis-related waste materials into, for example, a mobile rendering vehicle. The method may further include physically altering the cannabis-related waste materials such that the cannabis-related waste materials are unrecognizable and unusable. The insertion of the cannabis-related waste materials into the mobile rendering vehicle may be recorded and/or the physical alteration (e.g., pulverization) of the cannabis-related waste materials may be recorded via one or more cameras disposed on the mobile rendering vehicle to verify proper insertion and/or alteration of the cannabis-related waste materials.

Method for recovering constituent members from used absorbent article

A method of recovering structural members from a used absorbent article comprising a front sheet, a back sheet and an absorbent body between the front sheet and the back sheet, wherein at least one of the front sheet and the back sheet includes a film, and wherein the absorbent body includes an absorbent body material, may include swelling the used absorbent article with water, applying a physical shock to and disintegrating the swelled used absorbent article into at least the film and the absorbent body material, and separating the film and the absorbent body material.

SINGLE PROCEDURE INDICATORS

Disclosed herein are single use indicators and methods for employing the same. Such indicators and their uses are directed towards identifying the discharge status of single procedure devices, which are typically, but not limited to, medical devices.

WASTING STATION FOR MEDICATIONS

A wasting station for receiving a wasted medication from a medication dispenser is provided. The wasting station includes a base and a locking mechanism. The base includes a weight sensor to measure a weight of a waste container supported by the base. The wasting station can determine, based on the measured weight, a volume of the wasted medication positioned within the waste container. The locking mechanism includes a first end coupled to the base. The locking mechanism also includes a second end coupled to the waste container when the locking mechanism is in a first position and decoupled from the waste container when the locking mechanism moves from the first position to a second position, thereby allowing for removal of the waste container.
