In one aspect, the ram extends past the inlet gate when in an extended position. In another aspect, an actuator position sensor operably coupled to the actuator generates a position signal representative of a position of the actuator and a corresponding position of the ram at all positions between the retracted ram position and the extended ram position.

Method of destruction of organic waste with low content of water

The invention relates to methods of disposing household waste, in particular, to methods of disposing waste with low content of water by plasma-chemical destruction. The invention is directed to attaining a technical effect of broadening range of technical solutions by providing a method of destruction of organic waste with low content of water. The technical effect is attained by a destruction method, where organic waste with low content of water is loaded into a reactor via an input opening, and waste of biological origin is loaded additionally. The reactor is provided in form of a closed cavity, which inner surface is made conductive entirely or partially and grounded. An electrode protrudes into the reactor, which is isolated from the grounded surface. High-voltage pulses are supplied to the electrode. The pulses cause formation of corona discharge streamers in a gap between the electrode and the conductive surface of the reactor.

A process for treating a fines stream in a material recover facility (MRF), comprising: providing an MRF fines stream comprising breakable material and ductile material: subjecting the MRF fines streams to a one-pass kinetic pulverization stage to produce a pulverized material comprising a size-reduced fraction derived from the breakable material and an oversized fraction derived from the ductile material; withdrawing the pulverized material from the kinetic pulverizer; and subjecting the pulverized material to separation to produce a size-reduced stream and an oversized stream. Also provided is a system comprising a kinetic pulverizer, a pulverizer conveyor and a screen operatively coupled to the pulverizer conveyor to receive a pulverized stream and produce a sized-reduced stream and an oversized stream. The system can also include a magnetic separator and a dust collection system respectively located upstream and downstream of the kinetic pulverizer.

SELF-ALIGNING TRUNNION FOR DRUM FOR PROCESSING MIXED SOLID WASTE
20240416304 · 2024-12-19 ·

A rotatable drum system includes a frame and a drum rotationally supported thereon. Paddles in an interior of the drum are angularly offset from the longitudinal axis. An eccentric opening offset from the longitudinal axis forms the egress. Mixed solid waste agitated by the paddles while in the drum. Trunnions may support the drum. An actuator may be pivotable with an upper frame relative to a lower frame and the actuator can cause drum rotation irrespective of a position of the upper frame relative to the lower frame. A trunnion assembly with a rocker pivotally coupled to a base thereof via a first axle, enables the rocker to be pivotable relative to the base about the first axle. A second axle may be rotationally coupled to the rocker. A roller may be rotationally coupled to the rocker via the second axle, and configured to support a rotating load.

EXTRACTION OF ORGANICS FROM WASTE MATERIAL

The present description relates to press extractors for processing municipal solid waste or source separated organics, and can have large perforations for separation of a wet fraction from a liquid depleted fraction. The extractor can also be operated based on a target plug thickness of the liquid-depleted plug left over in the perforated chamber after compression. The extractors can facilitate good organics extraction yields, and lower operating pressures, among other benefits.
