An aluminum foil rolling process includes: providing first and second aluminum foils, each having first and second faces; lubricating one face between the first and second faces to obtain a first lubricated face; coupling the first and second foils, thereby obtaining a coupled foil having two outer faces; rolling the coupled foil, reducing the thickness of the coupled foil; lubricating one face between the two outer faces of the coupled foil, obtaining a coupled foil having a second lubricated face; winding the coupled foil having the second lubricated face, obtaining a wound coupled foil; partially separating the coupled foil by unwinding one of the first and second foils, obtaining a wound coupled foil; unwinding the wound coupled foil; rolling the coupled foil thereby obtaining a coupled foil with reduced thickness; separating the coupled foil with reduced thickness obtaining a first and second foils with respective first and second reduced thicknesses.

Coils of sheet metal and individual sheets of sheet metal having a thickness of greater than 0.074 inches are descaled in a processing line. The processing line has a cut to length portion, a conveyor, a destacker, and an apparatus for descaling the sheet metal by propelling one of grit and slurry against the sheet metal using an impeller wheel. The descaling apparatus has pinch rollers in an interior of the descaling apparatus. The processing line is configurable for processing a coil format by directing the sheet metal from the cut to length portion of the processing line through the descaling apparatus via the conveyor without processing through the destacker. The processing line is alternatively configurable for processing individual sheets of the sheet metal by directing the sheet metal from the destacker through the descaling apparatus via the conveyor without processing in the cut to length portion.

The present disclosure relates to a lithium rolling apparatus for forming a lithium foil by rolling a lithium sheet and includes a first roll which contacts a first surface of the lithium sheet; a second roll which contacts a second surface of the lithium sheet; and a first conveyor device disposed at a rear side of the first roll and the second roll, including a belt which transports the lithium foil while controlling tension applied to the lithium foil by surface-contacting at least a part of the second surface of the lithium foil.

Rolling taking frequency behavior into account

A roll stand of a rolling mill is supplied with a metal strip by an upstream supply device at an in-feed speed (v), with said metal strip being rolled in the roll stand. A measuring device between the supply device and the roll stand detects a respective thickness value (d) of the metal strip for consecutive sections of the metal strip and supplies said value to a control device of the rolling mill. The control device determines final thickness deviations based on the preliminary thickness deviations. The control device determines a respective control value (A2, A3) for the roll stand and/or the supply device for the sections of the metal strip based on the final thickness deviation of the respective section of the metal strip and the final thickness deviations of multiple preceding and/or subsequent sections of the metal strip.
