Systems and methods for quenching a metal strip after rolling
Systems and methods of quenching a metal substrate include cooling a top surface and a bottom surface of the metal substrate until a strip temperature is cooled to an intermediate temperature. Cooling of the top surface of the metal substrate is discontinued when the strip temperature reaches the intermediate temperature, and cooling of the bottom surface of the metal substrate continues until the metal substrate reaches a target temperature, where the target temperature is less than the intermediate temperature.

METHOD OF COOLING CONTROL FOR STEEL PLATE, COOLING CONTROL DEVICE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING STEEL PLATE
A method of cooling control for a steel plate, a cooling control device, and a method of manufacturing a steel plate, which adjust an upper/lower water ratio and prevent C-warping during cooling. The method of cooling control includes: determining an upper/lower water ratio of a steel plate being cooled wherein at least one of a C-warping amount and a curvature is within a target permissible range, based on a past operating condition, a past upper/lower water ratio when cooling under the past operating condition has been implemented, and at least one of a past C-warping amount and a past curvature measured by a shape measuring meter at an outgoing side of a cooling zone when the cooling under the past operating condition is implemented; and adjusting an amount of cooling water to be blown onto the steel plate to reach the upper/lower water ratio.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FLEXIBLE ROLLING OF METAL STRIPS
A method for manufacturing flexible rolling of metal strips, in which a metal strip with pre-definable material thickness is guided through a mill stand by at least two operating steps, which includes several rolls, the metallic strip is during the rolling operation set to lead through a roll gap, where a curve bending line is steered to achieve a defined profile.

Decoupled adjustment of contour and flatness of a metal strip
A control device of the rolling mill line controls actuators of a downstream and an upstream roll stand. The control device determines control variables for the actuators of the upstream roll stand while taking into consideration a flatness change to be carried out and additionally taking into consideration a contour change to be carried out and controls the actuators of the upstream roll stand accordingly. The control device determines control variables for the actuators of the downstream roll stand while taking into consideration the contour change to be performed but without taking into consideration the flatness change to be performed and controls the actuators of the downstream roll stand accordingly. The control device outputs the control variables to the actuators of the downstream roll stand with a delay of a transport time, relative to the corresponding control variables for the actuators of the upstream roll stand.

Profile straightening apparatus for a profiling system
A profile straightening apparatus 5 for a profiling system which is used to produce a metal profile 4 by roll profiling along a longitudinal axis of the metal profile. The profile straightening apparatus is intended for correcting axial deviations of the metal profile from a prescribed profile geometry, and includes a frame 8 and having at least two interacting correction rollers 6, 7, which are mounted in the frame, receive the metal profile between them and, in relation to the longitudinal axis of the metal profile, are adjustable in two radial directions and also in at least one direction of rotation. The profile straightening apparatus is equipped with force measuring sensors for any forces F.sub.y, F.sub.z acting in the metal profile in one or both radial directions and for any torques M.sub.x acting in the metal profile in a direction of rotation about the longitudinal axis.

Flatness-measuring device, hot-rolling mill and method for operating a flatness-measuring device
A flatness-measuring device for a hot-rolled strip within a hot-rolling mill includes an entry-side deflection roller and an exit-side deflection roller. A central deflection roller is arranged between the entry-side deflection roller and the exit-side deflection roller. The central deflection roller is used as a flatness-measuring roller. To prevent the hot-rolled strip from departing laterally during a flatness measurement, the flatness-measuring device has a sensing apparatus for sensing an actual position of the hot-rolled strip. An adjusting apparatus is connected to the sensing apparatus and to at least one of the deflection rollers. The flatness-measuring device is designed to vary an angle between a longitudinal central axis of the deflection roller respectively connected to the adjusting apparatus and a longitudinal axis of the flatness-measuring device based on a deviation of the actual position of the hot-rolled strip from a predefined target position.
