Method of manufacturing a tube and a machine for use therein
A method is used to manufacture a drawn tube having a hollow low interior for housing an axle shaft. The method includes the steps of placing a billet into a first die assembly and pressing the billet into the first die to producing a pre-formed billet. The method also includes the steps of moving the pre-formed billet from the first die assembly to a second die assembly and pressing the pre-formed billet into the second die assembly to produce an extruded tube. The method further includes the steps of moving the extruded tube from the second die assembly to a third die assembly and pressing the extruded tube into the third die assembly to further elongate the extruded tube and decrease the thickness of the wall of the extruded tube to of from about 3 to about 18 millimeters to produce the drawn tube having the yield strength of at least 750 MPa.

A special-purpose die for shaping an aluminum-magnesium alloy by rotating extrusion is provided, including a male die and a female die, wherein a trapezoidally-sectioned groove is formed at an end portion of a working area of the male die, an inner portion of the male die is hollow, with the hollow inner portion having sections of equal area, a circumferential wall of a die cavity of the female die is provided with at least two symmetrical axial grooves, and a cavity is formed inside a clamping part of the female die. The present disclosure remarkably reduces the axial extrusion force such that the deformation of the formed workpiece is more uniform, which greatly improves the mechanical property of the formed workpiece.

The invention relates to an extrusion machine (1) comprising a main frame (5), a friction wheel (4), a tool holding device (6), a locking device (11) and a tool unit (12) supported on the tool holding device (6). Furthermore, a shielding unit (28) with at least one first nozzle (32) and at least one second nozzle (33) is provided, wherein the nozzles (32, 33) are formed to emit a gas which is free of gaseous oxygen. The first nozzle (32) is directed at a peripheral portion (29) of the friction wheel (4). The second nozzle (33) is arranged below a stripping area (30) of the tool unit (12). The invention further relates to an extrusion machine (1) with a sensor unit (25) between the tool holding device (6) and the tool unit (12) as well as a method for distance control between two tool components of the extrusion machine (1). Furthermore, the invention also relates to different extrusion machines (1) as well as methods for changing friction wheels.

A method and apparatus for additive manufacturing that includes a material guide for directing a supply of working material. An advancement mechanism comprising one or more pistons, pushers, plungers and/or pressure regulation systems are positioned behind at least a portion of the supply of working material for advancing the working material forward. The working material is heated using an electro-magnetic heating element and the melted or molten working material is deposited from a tip positioned at an end of the material guide.

A high-efficiency and short-process method for preparing a high-strength and high-conductivity copper alloy is disclosed, comprising the following steps: performing horizontal continuous casting to obtain an as-cast primary billet of copper alloy, wherein the alloying elements in the obtained as-cast primary billet being in a supersaturated solid solution state; after peeling the obtained as-cast primary billet, directly performing continuous extrusion, cold working and aging annealing treatment to obtain a copper alloy, and keeping the alloying elements of the billet in a supersaturated solid solution state during the process of continuous extrusion. The method shortens the flow, reduces energy consumption and improves the product forming rate.
Method of forming an elongate electrical connection feature traversing a microscopic step
A method of forming an elongate electrical connection feature that traverses at least one step on or in a substrate is disclosed. A metallic nanoparticle composition is extruded from a capillary tube while the capillary tube is displaced relative to the substrate. The method includes: (1) continuously extruding the composition from the capillary tube while displacing the capillary tube by a height increment during a displacement period; (2) continuously extruding the composition from the capillary tube while the capillary tube is stationary during a stationary period; and (3) repeatedly executing (1) and (2) until the capillary tube is displaced from a position at a step bottom portion to another position at a height not lower than a step top portion.
COMBINED ROLLING AND EXTRUDING METHOD AND THE DEVICE FOR PERFORMING THE SAME
A method for combined rolling and extruding of cast billet is proposed. When implementing the method for combined rolling and extruding of metals or alloys, a cast billet with a predetermined temperature is fed to the working gauge, in which it is rolled and then to the die, through which the cast billet is extruded. When the cast billet is fed into the working gauge, a cladding layer of metal or alloy is created on the surfaces of the rolls by extruding the cast billet through the gaps formed between the surfaces of the rolls and the die. This invention makes it possible to improve the quality of the resulting products, as well as to increase the efficiency of the process as a whole.

The invention relates to a tool unit (12) for an extrusion machine (1) with a scraping element (51), a tool element (49) with an expanding channel (50) receiving the scraped extrusion material (3) and a die (53). The tool unit (12) includes a receiving cage (42) with first and second receiving cage parts (43, 44). In the first receiving cage part (43) there is a tool element (49) inserted in a receiving channel (48). In the second receiving cage part (44) a receiving chamber (52) facing the first receiving cage part (43) is formed, in which at least the die (53) is received and supported by a support surface (56). In the tool element (49) as well as in the first receiving cage part (43) a common receiving groove (62) is formed with at least one groove base surface (63, 64), in which the scraping element (51) is inserted loosely and is supported. The invention also relates to an extrusion machine (1) as well as to a method for changing the friction wheel (4).
