Dummy block for extrusion press
A dummy block for a metal extrusion press includes: a generally cylindrical base having a forward surface and an outwardly extending circumferential flange; an expandable collar coupled to the base, the collar having an inwardly extending circumferential rib abutting the circumferential flange; a plunger disc seated against the forward surface of the base and accommodated by the collar, and a plunger shaft extending through the plunger disc and coupled to the base.
HIGHLY-VISCOUS SUBSTANCE DISPENSING METHOD AND HIGHLY-VISCOUS SUBSTANCE DISPENSING APPARATUS
Each time a highly-viscous substance is extruded, a variation in weight of each cut piece of the highly-viscous substance is minimized. Metallic sodium (5) loaded in an extruder main body (3) is extruded from a nozzle (7) of the extruder main body (3) with a pressing tool (4) and, when it is detected that the metallic sodium (5) is extruded to a predetermined position, the movement of the pressing tool (4) is stopped and the extruded metallic sodium (5) is cut. In this case, an impulse (P) after stop is brought closer to a constant value until a load no longer acts on the metallic sodium (5) in the extruder main body (3) after stopping the movement of the pressing tool (4) by adjusting the movement speed of the pressing tool (4).
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING THE FUNCTIONAL STATE OF A SHAPING TOOTH ARRANGEMENT ON A FORMING TOOL
In a method for monitoring a functional state of a shaping tooth arrangement on a forming tool, at measurement times which are temporally staggered with respect to each other at a plurality of measurement locations on the shaping tooth arrangement, a tooth arrangement force is measured which acts on the shaping tooth arrangement. At each of the measurement times for each of the measurement locations an instantaneous local tooth arrangement force is thereby determined. A previous instantaneous local tooth arrangement force and a subsequent instantaneous local tooth arrangement force are correlated with each other to determine a local state identification value. On the basis of the local state identification values associated with the measurement locations, information is obtained relating to the functional state of the shaping tooth arrangement.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EXTRUDING WIDE PROFILES
An apparatus for extruding a material, the apparatus comprising: a block which includes two or more extrusion containers composed of heat resisting material, the containers being arranged to receive billets of the extruding material; a die set arranged downstream of the block including the two or more extrusion containers; and one or more rams, wherein the one or more rams are aligned with the axes of the extrusion containers and are arranged to push the billets of material through the extrusion containers into the die set; wherein the die set includes an upper die including two or more extrusion channels for extruding material from each of the extrusion containers, and a lower die incorporating a welding chamber, wherein two or more extruded billets from each of the extrusion channels are welded together and passed out through the exit of the die set.
HYBRID EXTRUSION PRESS
A hybrid extrusion press is provided with electric motors and hydraulic assist cylinders to cause a container holder to slide, wherein connecting rods are fastened to a container holder, the hydraulic assist cylinders have piston rods and gate devices connecting or disconnecting the connecting rods and the piston rods, and the gate devices are provided with hollow members fastened to the piston rods, enlarged diameter parts provided at single ends of the connecting rods and moving back and forth inside hollow parts of the hollow members, and locking parts provided at the hollow members and locking the enlarged diameter parts.

A hybrid extrusion press is provided with electric motors and hydraulic assist cylinders to cause a container holder to slide, wherein connecting rods are fastened to a container holder, the hydraulic assist cylinders have piston rods and gate devices connecting or disconnecting the connecting rods and the piston rods, and the gate devices are provided with hollow members fastened to the piston rods, enlarged diameter parts provided at single ends of the connecting rods and moving back and forth inside hollow parts of the hollow members, and locking parts provided at the hollow members and locking the enlarged diameter parts.
Extrusion press container and liner for same
A liner for an extrusion press container that includes an elongate body having a longitudinally extending passage therein through which a billet is advanced, the passage having a generally rectangular cross-sectional profile. The liner further comprises at least one first longitudinally extending heating element accommodated by the body adjacent a first side of the passage, and at least one second longitudinally extending heating element accommodated by the body adjacent a second side of the passage. The first and second heating elements are individually controllable for controlling a thermal profile within the liner.

Double action extrusion press
A double action extrusion press has: a main crosshead provided freely movable with the application of pressure in an axial direction by a main cylinder and having a pressing system disposed on the tip thereof; and a piercer cylinder built into the main cylinder and provided within the main ram, allowing a mandrel to slide within the pressing system and the main crosshead. The double action extrusion press complements the extrusion force by force equivalent to a mandrel pull force acting on a mandrel stop rod by affixing the piercer cylinder in contact to a piercer crosshead that is joined with the mandrel stop rod and applying hydraulic force to the rod side of the piercer cylinder.
