Flexible embedded interconnects

Flexible electronically functional fibers are described that allow for the placement of electronic functionality in traditional fabrics. The fibers can be interwoven with natural fibers to produce electrically functional fabrics and devices that can retain their original appearance.

GROOVED WIRE AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GROOVED WIRE
20170246669 · 2017-08-31 ·

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for manufacturing grooved wire are provided. A set of rollers may form grooves on an outermost surface of a wire along an axial distance of the wire. The set of rollers may include a first roller and a second roller. The first and second roller may include groove-fabricating portions aligned circumferentially around a radial face of each of the rollers. The first roller and second roller, via the groove-fabricating portions, may form grooves on the outermost surface of the wire along the axial direction of the wire.

Method of forming flat bar

Process and apparatus for forming a coil of scrap tubing
09816334 · 2017-11-14 ·

A process for forming a coil of scrap tubing includes the steps of forming a turntable having at least one longitudinal member extending upwardly therefrom, extending a length of the tubing to the turntable, rotating the turntable such that the tubing wraps around the longitudinal member so as to form the coil, and lifting the coil from the turntable that above the longitudinal member. An end of the scrap tubing from the reel is fixed to the turntable prior to the step of rotating. The longitudinal member includes a panel extending upwardly from the turntable and an arm pivotally mounted adjacent an end of the panel opposite the turntable. A forklift is used to lift the coil from the turntable.

HIGH QUALITY, VOID AND INCLUSION FREE ALLOY WIRE
20170320172 · 2017-11-09 ·

Disclosed herein is a method of forming an alloy material for use in a wire. The method includes forming a master alloy containing lead and silver; and creating a molten wire alloy by combining the master alloy, additional lead, and a third material in a vessel. The method also includes flowing argon gas through and over the molten wire alloy. The method also includes drawing the molten alloy from the vessel through an actively cooled die, and solidifying the molten wire alloy to form a bar of wire alloy.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SPRING WIRE, DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MAKING A SPRING WIRE, DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SPRINGS FROM A SPRING WIRE, AND SPRING WIRE
20170252867 · 2017-09-07 ·

A device for producing a spring wire includes a wire production apparatus which is designed such that a spring wire can be produced from a raw material, in particular by drawing; a checking unit which is designed such that the spring wire can be checked for flaws, in particular material flaws and surface flaws; and a laser marking unit which is designed such that defective regions of the spring wire, in particular regions of the spring wire having material and surface flaws, can be marked with a laser marking such that part of the surface of the spring wire can be removed or part of the surface of the spring wire can be tempered in such a manner that the color of the surface of the spring wire is changed in this part. The wire production apparatus is designed such that the spring wire can be guided past the checking unit and past the laser marking unit.
