A tension adjusting mechanism is installed on side surfaces of the first reversing portion and the upper pressing portion and a side surface of the second reversing portion.

A method for trim loss optimization for metal industries includes receiving a selection of one or more orders for metal trimming. The method also includes inputting the one or more orders and multiple machine parameters to a dimension conversion engine, the dimension conversion engine configured to determine a roll width and a roll length for optimally fulfilling each order using decomposition of a three dimensional problem into a two dimensional problem based on spatial decomposition. The method also includes identifying at least one metal forming or conversion machine for processing the one or more orders. The method also includes inputting one or more metal tolerances as edge trim parameters to a trim algorithm. The method also includes determining, using the trim algorithm, a number of parent rolls for fulfilling the one or more orders using the at least one metal forming or conversion machine.

At least a second element (2) defining a second catching recess (4); and at least a second cover (8) movable between an open position leaving the further catching recess (4) exposed and a closed position covering the second catching recess (4) to form a closed passage for the end of a second strand (27; 27a, 27b) in order to secure the end of the second strand to the reel (50; 50a, 50b).

Provided is a slitter device capable of quickly supplying metal bands to a cutter stand and cutting same into strips with high speed and accuracy. The metal band slitter device comprises an unwinder that unwinds a metal band wound into a coil, a cutter stand that cuts the unwound metal band into narrow width strips, and a winder that winds the cut metal band into coils. The metal band slitter device is configured to comprise a tension adjustment unit on the winder side between the unwinder and the cutter stand that provides a constant tension to the metal band and a tension separating unit on the cutter stand side that separates the constant tension on the input side and tension on the output side.
