REEL ROTATION DEVICE FOR USE WITH FIBER OPTIC CABLE STORAGE REEL
A device for rotating a reel of fiber optic cable comprising an elongated L-shaped frame with a first side for supporting a reel in its vertical position and a second side for supporting a reel in its horizontal position. Each of the first and the second sides may be supported by casters. When the L-shaped frame is in the vertical or horizontal position orientation, the casters provide a clearance gap between the floor and at least one transition disc which is located at the vertex of the L-shaped frame. The reel of fiber optic cable may be rotated from its vertical position to its horizontal position by adjusting the tension of chains attached to the distal ends of the L-shaped frame, thus shifting the weight from the first-side support casters, onto the transition disc, and onto the second-side support casters.
Asymmetric coil support
The invention relates to a device (1) in conveying equipment for moving metal strips wound to form coils (2), in particular produced from high-strength or ultra-high-strength steel grades, wherein for transport the coils (2) can be lifted and lowered from a resting position on a coil support (3) by means of a vertically adjustable coil lifting device (4), wherein the coil support (3) has two coil support elements (3a, 3b) which are laterally spaced apart from one another and the coil lifting device (4) has two support prongs (4a, 4b), characterized in that at least the coil support elements (3a, 3b) are disposed asymmetrically with respect to the vertical (5) through the center of rotation (2a) of the coil (2).

Process and apparatus for forming a coil of scrap tubing
A process for forming a coil of scrap tubing includes the steps of forming a turntable having at least one longitudinal member extending upwardly therefrom, extending a length of the tubing to the turntable, rotating the turntable such that the tubing wraps around the longitudinal member so as to form the coil, and lifting the coil from the turntable that above the longitudinal member. An end of the scrap tubing from the reel is fixed to the turntable prior to the step of rotating. The longitudinal member includes a panel extending upwardly from the turntable and an arm pivotally mounted adjacent an end of the panel opposite the turntable. A forklift is used to lift the coil from the turntable.

DEVICE FOR WINDING STRIP-SHAPED MATERIAL
A device for winding strip-shaped material onto at least one reel (10) comprises a support arm (11) that is movable relative to the machine frame (12) and has at least one horizontal reel shaft (13) for holding the reel (10). The reel shaft (13) holding the reel is made to rotate by at least one rotary drive (14). A release mechanism is provided for releasing the reel (10) when the support arm (11) moves relative to the machine frame (12). In order to design a device that is better adapted to the specificities of rigid materials and to greater weights of the strip-shaped material, the support arm (11) supporting the reel when the strip-shaped material is wound onto the reel simultaneously forms the release mechanism, and a linear movement mechanism (15) is provided for moving the support arm (11) parallel to the reel shaft (13) and transversely to a strip feeding mechanism (16) in order for the reel to be released.
FIXING A STRIP END SEGMENT OF A METAL STRIP COIL TO AN ADJACENT STRIP WINDING
A method for fixing a strip end segment of a metal strip wound into a coil to a strip winding of the coil arranged adjacent to the strip end segment. In order to enable the production of metal strip with improved quality, the strip end segment is fixed by materially bonding on the strip winding by means of a friction welding method.
Pipe coil skid with side rails and method of use
A pipe coil skid includes a plurality of beams affixably connected together to form a rectangular shaped base and a platform disposed within the base. The platform has a concave upward shape on its upward facing side when the skid sits on a horizontal surface, such that a coil of pipe positioned upon the platform contacts the platform within the base. The pipe coil skid also includes a first side rail coupled to at least one of the plurality of beams. The first side rail is configured to block movement of the coil of pipe beyond a boundary of the rectangular shaped base.
