HARSH ENVIRONMENT ENCLOSURE
A harsh environment enclosure for use with sensor systems, such as cameras. The enclosure can include a housing having an end wall, sidewalls, a top wall, and a bottom wall. A door is hinged to the top wall. The enclosure can have a linkage assembly including a door lever having an elongate first end portion connected to the door, a laterally extending second end portion, and an elbow positioned therebetween. A pivot arm having a proximal end is connected to an interior surface of the housing and a distal end of the pivot arm is connected to the elbow. An actuator can be connected between the housing and the laterally extending second end portion. The linear actuator can be positioned with respect to the door lever and pivot arm to move the door to an open position when extended and a closed position when retracted.
MULTI-STYLUS ORBITAL ENGRAVING TOOL
A selectable symbol engraving tool for use with a CNC machine. The engraving tool includes a housing and an array of styluses supported in the housing. A pattern disk is rotatably supported in the housing and is connectable to a spindle of the CNC machine. The pattern disk includes a plurality of hole patterns, each selectable via rotation of the spindle and including one or more clearance holes corresponding to a symbol. The array of styluses is positioned to confront a selected one of the plurality of hole patterns such that styluses corresponding to the clearance holes are retracted and the remaining styluses are extended. The extended styluses are operative to engrave the symbol corresponding to the selected hole pattern in a work piece via orbiting about a virtual axis of rotation when the selectable character engraving tool is moved in a circular motion by the CNC machine.
Method and system for controlling the quality of a stamped part
A system and method for detecting a defective part and the type of defect formed during stamping operations. The system and method will not only detect the defect but also the nature of the defect and the time at which the defect occurred during stamping operations. Such information is useful not only in quality control but also in isolating a problem which may exist in stamping operations and thus eliminating time for isolating such problems and correcting them. The system and method uses a profile of a properly stamped part to detect a defect, and the root cause of the defect.
Adjustment aid for a joining device having a punch and a counter-tool, and method for adjusting the joining device
The present disclosure provides an adjustment aid for a joining device having a punch and a counter-tool which can be oriented coaxially to one another and can be moved axially towards each other for a joining movement relative to one another. Furthermore, the present disclosure provides a method for adjusting a joining device with a punch and counter-tool. A grid marking is embossed in a reshaped test part with the assistance of an embossable grid marking on a punch surface or on a counter surface of the counter-tool. This grid marking is evaluable in comparison to the discernible impressions of the punch surface and counter surface of the counter-tool.
Apparatus for processing surface of workpiece
An apparatus for processing the surface of a workpiece includes: a first rotating body connected to a first rotating shaft and including a first protruding portion connected to a part of the outer circumference thereof; a second rotating body connected to a second rotating shaft and including a second protruding portion connected to a part of the outer circumference thereof; and a third rotating body connected to a third rotating shaft and including a third protruding portion connected to a part of the outer circumference thereof, wherein the first to third rotating shafts are in the same plane, a first angle between the first and second rotating shafts, a second angle between the first and third rotating shafts, and a third angle between the second and third rotating shafts are identical, outer circumferences of the first to third rotating shafts adjacent to one another form a pathway through which a workpiece can pass, and the size of the pathway is adjusted by moving the first rotating body.
Rolling load prediction method, rolling load prediction device, and rolling control method
A rolling load prediction method predicts a rolling load of a rolling mill for rolling steel and includes predicting the rolling load of the rolling mill in a case where the steel is rolled under an operating condition for prediction, by inputting the operating condition for prediction into a rolling load prediction model that has been trained with operation record data including at least a factor related to a temperature of the steel as an input variable and an actual value of the rolling load of the rolling mill as an output variable.
The array of styluses is positioned to confront a selected one of the plurality of hole patterns such that styluses corresponding to the clearance holes are refracted and the remaining styluses are extended. The extended styluses are operative to engrave the symbol corresponding to the selected hole pattern in a work piece via orbiting about a virtual axis of rotation when the selectable character engraving tool is moved in a circular motion by the CNC machine.
HIGH-CONTRAST ENGINE CONNECTING ROD
After a connecting rod for an engine is formed, it is broken or fractured at a fracture point to allow the connecting rod to assemble around a portion of a crankshaft. However, before fracturing the connecting rod, the connecting rod is provided with a layer of paint across the eventual fracture point such that when the connecting rod is fractured the paint extends across both sides of the fracture point. Also before fracturing the connecting rod, serial numbers or symbols are etched into the paint on either side of the eventual fracture point. These serial numbers are unique to that connecting rod, and have similar indicia on either side of the connecting rod. The combination of the paint and serial numbers increase the ability of an assembly worker to assure matching parts of an original connecting rod are re-attached during assembly about the crankshaft.
METHOD OF FORMING A MARKING ON AN ARTICLE, AND AN ARTICLE HAVING A MARK THEREON
A mold for imparting a marking including a requisite optical element has two and a half dimensions (2.5D) to the outer surface of an article formed from a ductile material. The mold includes a marking surface for imparting the mark to an outer surface of the article. That imparting is done by localized plastic deformation of the material from which the article is formed upon the mold and the article being urged against each other. The marking surface includes a micro-structure formed by an arrangement plural micro meter sized recessed or protruded entities. The entities are arranged in a predetermined arrangement in relation to each other, and the entities are arranged as a micro-structure having two and a half dimensions (2.5D). The entities are arranged in an inverse arrangement compared to the optical element, and to provide the recesses extending from the marking surface into the mold.
Metrology Assisted Part Forming System and Method
Systems and methods for using metrology to assist a user at a workstation to form a part into a desired contour include scanning the part to obtain scanned data indicative of an actual contour of the part. Distance errors are determined based on a comparison of the scanned data to a computer model of the desired contour. A contour map of deviation is determined based on the distance errors, with the contour map of deviation indicating magnitudes of the distance errors for at least a selected set of points on the actual contour of the part. Visible indicium is projected onto the part that represents the contour map of deviation, thereby assisting the user of the workstation to identify where further modification of the actual contour is needed.
