A sheet folding kit is also provided, the kit comprising a sheet folding mechanism comprising a fixing body and a folding mechanism, two or more folding ends, and two or more folding blocks. A method of folding a sheet is further provided, the method comprising selecting a folding end of a folding assembly based on the fixing profile and the desired seam.

SWIVEL BENDING MACHINE

A swivel bending machine has, in front of a front side of a workpiece holding unit, a support table for workpieces to be bent. A workpiece manipulator picks up workpieces to be bent from at least one table end region and takes the workpieces, in parallel with the longitudinal direction of a bending beam, to a portion in the longitudinal center of the workpiece holding unit. The workpiece manipulator has a first pair of clamping tongs and, spaced apart from the first pair in the longitudinal direction of the bending beam, a second pair of clamping tongs for clamping a workpiece. At least one pair of clamping tongs has a first stop surface for referencing workpiece positioning in relation to the longitudinal direction of the bending beam and a second stop surface for referencing positioning of this workpiece in relation to a depth direction of the swivel bending machine.

SWIVEL BENDING MACHINE

A swivel bending machine has, in front of a front side of a workpiece holding unit, a support table for workpieces to be bent. A workpiece manipulator picks up workpieces to be bent from at least one table end region and takes the workpieces, in parallel with the longitudinal direction of a bending beam, to a portion in the longitudinal center of the workpiece holding unit. The workpiece manipulator has a first pair of clamping tongs and, spaced apart from the first pair in the longitudinal direction of the bending beam, a second pair of clamping tongs for clamping a workpiece. At least one pair of clamping tongs has a first stop surface for referencing workpiece positioning in relation to the longitudinal direction of the bending beam and a second stop surface for referencing positioning of this workpiece in relation to a depth direction of the swivel bending machine.

The first mould element is movable by translation along a working direction inclined to a direction perpendicular to the clamping surfaces towards a final working position in which the first mould element presses the sheet metal part against the second mould element.

A back gauge system is provided for actively adjusting position of a piece of sheet material in a sheet metal bending brake to a predetermined distance from a bending edge for performing a bend in accordance with a predetermined bending line. The back gauge system includes a frame connected to the sheet metal bending brake, a linear displacement assembly configured to move a stopper supporting the leading edge of the piece of sheet material, and a controlling system communicably connected to the linear displacement assembly to modify the position of the stopper along a traveling axis. A conversion kit assembly is also provided to retrofit an existing sheet metal bending brake not equipped with the back gauge system. The conversion kit comprises the back gauge system disclosed herein and optionally a cavity guide to support the sheet metal and prevent sagging thereof during operation of the back gauge system.
