Automatic metal wire bending (AMWB) apparatus to manufacture shape conforming lattice structure with continuum design for manufacturable topology
Provided herein are an apparatus and method for bending wire. The apparatus includes a feeding system with at least one feed roller pair and a controllable feed motor, at least one control platform axis, and at least one bending unit. The method includes i) providing the apparatus of claim 1; ii) advancing a wire with the feeding system; iii) engaging the wire with the at least one bending unit; iv) bending the wire with the at least one bending unit; v) retracting the at least one bending unit; and optionally repeating steps ii-v to form a desired structure. Also provided herein are algorithms for feeding, engaging, and bending the wire.
Multistage plunger systems and methods for forming battery cell tabs
Presented are metalworking systems for forming metallic workpieces, methods for making/operating such metalworking systems, and battery module cell tabs bent by a multistage cluster-and-bend press. A metalworking system includes a grouping tool and a contouring tool that both align adjacent a workpiece support structure, such as a base plate of a battery module housing buttressing a stack of battery pouch cells. The grouping tool, which may include a first reciprocating plunger or plunger head, presses together a stack of metallic workpieces to thereby form a workpiece set having a first bend profile and a first length. The contouring tool, which may include a second reciprocating plunger or a pair of plunger fingers mounted on the plunger head, is attached to the grouping tool and bends the workpiece set to a second bend profile, distinct from the first bend profile, and a second set length, shorter than the first set length.

SURGICAL ROD BENDING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for bending a surgical rod using an automated bending system includes receiving an indication of a plurality of line segments defined on the rod and an indication of an angle measurement to be formed between at least two adjacent ones of the plurality of line segments. Bending parameters to perform on the rod to form the angle measurement between the at least two adjacent ones of the plurality of line segments are determined and operation of the automated bending system is controlled using the bending parameters to create an angle having the angle measurement between the at least two adjacent ones of the plurality of line segments.
Bender having a sensor configured to sense a workpiece
A bender includes a rotatable bending shoe having at least one channel therein configured to receive a workpiece, a seat proximate to the bending shoe which is configured to receive the workpiece thereon, and a sensor provided on the seat which is configured to sense the presence of the workpiece. In some embodiments, the sensor is configured to sense an end of the workpiece.

Machine and method to work metal products
Machine to work oblong metal products, including a drawing apparatus to feed at least one of said metal products in a direction of feed and a work apparatus aligned in said direction of feed. The drawing apparatus includes a first drawing unit and a second drawing unit opposite each other with respect to said direction of feed. The first drawing unit and the second drawing unit define between them, in said direction of feed, a drawing channel for the at least one metal product. The drawing channel has a lying plane, defined by a plurality of anchoring inserts, for the at least one metal product, a supply apparatus being possibly present upstream of said drawing apparatus.
