A method and apparatus include attaching a lighted cup holder to a seating arrangement. The lighted cup holder includes a cup holder body and a light-producing light source, with the cup holder body being attached to the seating arrangement and having a cup receptacle therein, the light-producing source being disposed within the cup receptacle for illuminating the receptacle. A light-sensitive element operatively connected to the light source selectively controls production of light by the light source in such a manner that illumination of the cup holder is provided only under conditions where visibility is reduced to the point that it becomes difficult to locate the cup holder. The light-sensitive element is mounted on a master lighted cup holder and controls illumination of the master lighted cup holder and one or more slave lighted cup holders operatively connected to the master lighted cup holder.

A method is provided for enhancing comfort of a seat with a hip/thigh support and a back support. The method includes providing a seating pad assembly with a foam cushion made at least partly of a viscoelastic foam and having a cover formed from a dimensionally stable non-stretch material. An upper area of the seating pad assembly is attached to an upper area of the seat back. Pelvic and upper back areas of a person sitting on the seat deform the viscoelastic foam sufficiently to provide a comfortable support and to define anchors for the seating pad assembly. The non-stretch cover extends between those anchors for effectively supporting and cradling the lumbar back area of the person in the seat above and forward of the corner between the seat back and the hip/thigh support.

Aerosol containment apparatus and methods of use are provided herein. The apparatus provides for creating an interior rest space for a person. The apparatus includes a self-sealable cover which is configurable to seal the interior rest space for use in dental care, cosmetic care or other procedures. Access to the person is provided by arm ports located on the apparatus. These arm ports are flexible and allow for vertical, horizontal and angular arm movement procedures. The apparatus includes a partially or substantially transparent cover for visual access to the client and an internal utility tray for tool storage. The apparatus, also includes, an air filtration port equipped with a replaceable air filter.

A wall-proximity reclining seating unit includes: a frame having a back member and a pair of arms, the back member being fixed relative to and extending between the arms; a backrest; a seat; a footrest; a reclining mechanism connected between the frame, backrest, seat, and footrest comprising a series of pivotally interconnected links that move the seating unit between: (a) an upright position, in which the footrest is retracted below a forward portion of the seat and faces generally downwardly and defines an angle of between about 20 and 40 degrees with the underlying surface, (b) a TV position, in which the footrest is extended in front of the seat and is generally horizontally disposed, and the seat and backrest are moved forwardly relative to the frame between about 2.5 and 4 inches; and (c) a fully reclined position, in which the backrest is disposed at an angle shallower than the first backrest angle, the footrest remains extended in front of the seat, and the seat is moved forward of its position in the TV position between about 4 and 7 inches. A power actuator coupled to the reclining mechanism drives the backrest, seat and footrest between the upright, TV and fully reclined positions.

A frame for motion furniture includes a first side frame and a second side frame. A first plurality of connecting flanges extends from the first side frame toward the second side frame, and a second plurality of connecting flanges extends from the second side frame toward the first side frame. A plurality of cross support members span between the first and second side frames in a horizontal direction, each of the cross support members positioned against a corresponding connection flange of the first plurality of connection flanges and against a corresponding connection flange of the second plurality of connection flanges. A plurality of fasteners connects corresponding cross support members to corresponding connection flanges. Each fastener has a longitudinal axis that is oriented in a direction that is transverse to the horizontal direction. A method of assembling furniture having the disclosed cross support connection structure is provided.
