Wear resistant tubular members and systems and methods for producing the same
Some embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a tubular member including a central axis, a first end, a second end opposite the first end, an upset region between and axially spaced from the first end and the second end, and a first outer diameter axially spaced midway between the first end and the upset region. The upset region includes a second diameter which is larger than the first diameter, does not include a weld joint, and includes redistributed material from the tubular member.
System and method for manufacturing hollow tubular jewellery
A system for manufacturing hollow tubular jewellery comprises a die and core assembly for extruding a hollow metallic tube, wherein a core is positioned within a die of the die and core assembly to define three-dimensional surfaces or curved surfaces of a hollow metallic tube. A mandrel is provided for bending the hollow metallic tube, wherein the mandrel is fixed proximal from the die and core assembly. A laser source is provided, which is configured to emit a laser beam to form perforations on the hollow metallic tube. The system includes a fixture which is adapted to hold the hollow metallic tube. The fixture is configured to rotate and tilt to adjustably position a three-dimensional surface or curved surface of the hollow metallic tube perpendicular to the laser beam for forming perforations.

Method for producing a steering shaft part and steering shaft for a motor vehicle
A method may be utilized to produce a steering spindle part configured as a hollow shaft and having a connecting portion at its end. At least a part of the connecting portion includes increased wall thickness relative to a portion of the steering spindle part adjoining the connecting portion. The method may involve providing a circular, hollow cylindrical tube with an inner surface that is smooth in a circumferential direction, providing a circular, hollow cylindrical sleeve with an outer surface that is smooth in a circumferential direction, inserting the sleeve into an end portion of the tube, and jointly deforming the end portion of the tube and the sleeve such that a flow of material occurs. This flow may form positively locking elements on the tube and the sleeve that engage into one another in the circumferential direction and generate positive locking in the circumferential direction.
Fin-assembled tube
A fin-assembled tube includes a helical fin arranged in an interior of a tube, wherein the tube has: a straight tube portion the center line of which extends in a substantially straight line; and a bent portion the center line of which is curved, and the helical fin is formed such that a helical pitch in an axial direction is longer in a portion positioned in the bent portion relative to the helical pitch in a portion positioned in the straight tube portion, the helical pitch being a pitch of a plate-shaped fin material twisted by a certain angle about the center line.
Tube bending apparatus and method
A bending wheel of a tube bending apparatus includes a tube-accepting recess, proximal and distal wheel faces, and a rotation recess. The proximal wheel face includes a lever pivot anchor. A cam insert includes a shaft having a tool driving feature. The shaft is configured for selective insertion into the rotation recess. The cam insert includes a camming flange, which includes a lever urging feature. A keeper lever includes a keeper finger rigidly connected to a laterally extending lever arm and extending longitudinally from the proximal wheel face. An anchor end of the lever arm includes an arm pivot feature and a spaced-apart cam following feature configured to interact with the lever urging feature. Rotation of the cam insert causes rotation of the lever urging feature to drive the cam following feature of the keeper lever and pivot the lever arm in the same rotational direction.
