PRESS FORMING METHOD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PRESS FORMED PRODUCT

There is provided a press forming method capable of suppressing a camber back, which occurs in a hat-shaped member while reducing a restriction on a shape of the hat-shaped member. At a time of the press forming, a blank material (4) in which a longitudinal line length is at least longer than a longitudinal line length of a top plate portion of a hat-shaped member (5) is fixed between a pair of press dies (lower die (2), upper die (3)), which have bent surfaces (convex surface (2a), concave surface (3a)), while being warped upward, that is, in a bending direction of the lower die (2) and the upper die (3). Subsequently, for the fixed blank material (4), a bent portion of the hat-shaped member (5) is press formed by using the convex surface (2a) and the concave surface (3a).

Method of manufacturing curvilineal closed structure parts without flange and apparatus for the same

A method and apparatus manufactures a closed structure part without flange having a curvature and welded edges along a longitudinal direction of the part and further having a varying cross-sectional shape, from two metal plates. Each of two metal plates provided with a curvature along the longitudinal direction of the plate and provided with both ends in a width direction of the plate, are press-formed such that a folding line is formed at positions corresponding to a non-welded bent edge in a cross section of the part, and stacked on each other vertically such that their bulging sides face outward. Their left ends and right ends in the width direction are mutually welded along the longitudinal direction to form welded edges.

Manufacturing method for battery case lid including explosion-proof valve

A battery case lid is formed by working a metal plate, and includes a substrate section and an explosion-proof valve formed in the substrate section. The explosion-proof valve has a reduced thickness section that is thinner than the substrate section, and the reduced thickness section is formed by extending the metal plate by applying pressure while the metal plate is kept unrestrained.

A golf club head has a hollow therein and a head volume of not less than 350 cc. The head comprises a head main body and a substantially cup-shaped face member which are united with each other. The face member integrally includes a face portion having a club face for hitting a ball, and a turnback extending backwardly of the head from a peripheral edge of the club face. The inner surface of the face member is provided with a groove extending along the boundary of the turnback with the face portion. The face member is a press-formed part whose turnback is bent by press working.

Molding method for plate-shaped workpiece, and molded article

Provided is a molding method for a plate-shaped workpiece including forming a concave portion (11) at one surface (1a) of a plate-shaped workpiece (1), and bending the plate-shaped workpiece (1) having the concave portion (11) such that the one surface (1a) becomes a concave surface and a rear surface (1b) thereof becomes a convex surface.

An apparatus and method is provided for forming folds at a corner in a spacer frame assembly used in the construction of insulating glass unit windows. The apparatus comprises a carriage supporting first and second crimping fingers. The crimping fingers are spaced about a path of travel for the passage of metal strips during operation. The apparatus comprises an encoder to determine a velocity of the strips, and a motor coupled to a ball screw assembly. The ball screw assembly moves the carriage during operation along the path of travel. The apparatus comprises an electrical gearing arrangement for accelerating the carriage along the path. The electrical gearing arrangement includes a controller and a double acting rack assembly, the controller being coupled to the motor, the encoder, and the double rack assembly. The double rack assembly simultaneously actuates the fingers at a direction substantially transverse to the path.
