Metal catalyst support, manufacturing method and apparatus therefor
Provided is a metal catalyst support including: a case having a space through which exhaust gas passes; and flat plates and corrugated plates which are alternately stacked in the case and coated with a catalyst, wherein the corrugated plates are formed such that a first corrugated plate and a second corrugated plate are disposed with the flat plate therebetween, the first corrugated plate and the second corrugated plate are disposed such that a first corrugated portion and a second corrugated portion are alternately and repeatedly formed, and the vertex of the first corrugated portion and the vertex of the second corrugated portion face and coincide with each other, to thereby minimize deformation during thermal expansion due to external impact, vibration and temperature change.
Metal roof panel with deformation resistant rib and method of making the same
A metal roof panel includes a rib with a unique shape. The rib is bilateral with upwardly angled sides that each transition into an indentation, with both indentations transitioning into a central flat apex. Between each rib is a channel, preferably including at least one raised surface. The lower surface of the channel between the raised surfaces, and the top of the raised surfaces, are substantially planar and parallel to the flat surface of the apex of the panel. A unique method of manufacturing the roof panel employs a roll machine configured to shape a piece of sheet metal into the roof panel by modifying the shape in many small increments, which allows the final product to have a fairly intricate bend pattern.
METALLIC HONEYCOMB BODY WITH ADHESION-IMPROVING MICROSTRUCTURES
A metallic honeycomb body with channels through which a gas may flow, made up of layers of at least partially structured sheet metal, the layers of sheet metal having at least in subregions at least two different structures, of which the first structure, with a greater structure height (H), determines the size of the channels and the second structure has a much smaller structure height (h) between troughs and peaks and the form and/or the structure height (H) of the second structure being chosen such that a ceramic coating applied later may fill the troughs of the second structure on average to at least 10%, in particular at least 50%, of their structure height (h). With the honeycomb body according to the invention, more coating material per unit of volume is durably attached in a metallic honeycomb body without excessively increasing the pressure loss. This is of advantage particularly for applications for reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel exhaust gases.

AIR FIN FOR A HEAT EXCHANGER
An air fin for a heat exchanger has air channels defined by corrugations, the corrugations having generally planar flanks joined by alternating crests and troughs. Perforations extend through portions of at least some of the flanks and are aligned within two spaced apart planes. A rectangular aperture extends through at least two consecutive ones of the corrugations, and is bounded by the two planes. A method of making the air fin includes forming perforations into a continuous strip of metal sheet at regular intervals, corrugating the strip to form crests and troughs between the perforations, and punching out a portion of the strip at regular intervals. The punching out includes shearing webs between the perforations, and results in the formation of the rectangular aperture.

Fin, heat exchanger with fin, and method of manufacturing fin
A fin according to the present disclosure is a corrugated fin formed of a metal plate by bending into a corrugated shape, and the corrugated fin includes peak portions extending in a first direction, valley portions extending in the first direction, and inclined portions connecting the peak portions and the valley portions adjacent to each other. The peak portions and the valley portions are alternately arranged in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and a thickness of the metal plate at each apex of the peak portions and the valley portions is larger than a thickness of the inclined portions of the metal plate.
