An offset fin manufacturing method for manufacturing offset fins includes a feeding step of feeding a strip plate, a connection forming step of forming a connection in the strip plate, and an offset fin forming step of bending a planar plate portion located between corresponding two of the connections. In the offset fin forming step, each offset fin is formed such that two of top surface portions, which are located at an upstream end and a downstream end, respectively, of the offset fin in a feed direction of the strip plate, are respectively and directly connected to corresponding two of the connections. One of two of lateral surface portions joined to a corresponding one of the two of the top surface portions is not offset, and thereby a length of the corresponding one of the two of the top surface portions measured along a wave continuation direction is increased.
Assembly and method for press forming a deformable material
An assembly for press forming a deformable material including: a first die array including a plurality of dies, the first die array defining a first die profile; a second die array that is complementary with the first die array and including a plurality of dies, the second die array defining a second die profile that is complementary with the first die profile; and a drive for driving at least one of the first die array and the second die array; wherein in use the plurality of dies of the first die array and the plurality of dies of the second die array sequentially engage the deformable material along a processing length to deform the deformable material to a predetermined profile.

An assembly for press forming a deformable material including: a first die array including a plurality of dies, the first die array defining a first die profile; a second die array that is complementary with the first die array and including a plurality of dies, the second die array defining a second die profile that is complementary with the first die profile; and a drive for driving at least one of the first die array and the second die array; wherein in use the plurality of dies of the first die array and the plurality of dies of the second die array sequentially engage the deformable material along a processing length to deform the deformable material to a predetermined profile.

An apparatus for forming the profile of deformable materials including tubular sections. The apparatus (1) includes at least two sets (4, 5) of die elements (6), each set (4,5) including a plurality of die elements (6) respectively arranged to travel along corresponding endless path. The paths each include a forming portion (9,10) in which die elements (6) of each set (4. 5) are opposed to define a forming space (11) therebetween. The forming portion (9, 10) of each path is configured so that one or more dimensions of the forming space (11) reduce along the length of the forming portion (9,10) to simultaneously apply lateral forces to material progressing through the forming portion.

An apparatus for forming the profile of deformable materials including tubular sections. The apparatus (1) includes at least two sets (4, 5) of die elements (6), each set (4,5) including a plurality of die elements (6) respectively arranged to travel along corresponding endless path. The paths each include a forming portion (9,10) in which die elements (6) of each set (4. 5) are opposed to define a forming space (11) therebetween. Spacing elements run along a direction of extent (E) from the first plane into the second plane in the transition zone from the first plane into the second plane and thus the spacing elements space the first plane apart from the support platform, the spacing elements having a twist about the direction of extent thereof along the direction of extent thereof (E), the twist being formed by the shaping of the material web being performed as bending.
