Bellow internal-external pressure crimping method and crimping- compressing device
11845120 · 2023-12-19 ·

Bellows are devices used to compensate linear, thermal, or angular movement/expansion. In oil and gas industry bellows are used in gas lift valves as a slidable seal between two gases. Gas lift valves are used in process of oil artificial lift from wells. Bellows having very thin walls are not well suited for pressures higher than approximately 200 PSI. To withstand much higher pressures bellows are being crimped, process that compresses the bellow to shorter length which increases bellow mechanical toughness. This patent application refers to bellow crimping method that uses initially balanced internal and external pressure to crimp bellow to desired length and maintain perfect bellow elements-convolution Ω geometry using custom designed crimping device.

Method for forming vehicle body member

A forming method for a vehicle body member may include a tube making process of forming a steel pipe by welding a steel plate coil; a non-circular tube making process of primary preforming the steel pipe formed in the tube making process so as to have a cross section of a predetermined shape; a bending process of bending and secondarily preforming the steel pipe preformed firstly in the non-circular tube making process; and a hot stamping process of heating the secondarily preformed steel pipe, inserting the heated steel pipe into a mold to form a desired shape, and then, quenching the heated steel pipe to form a vehicle body member, thereby easily forming a vehicle body member having high rigidity.

A method for producing a profiled hollow shaft for a telescopic steering shaft of a motor vehicle may involve providing a hollow shaft to be processed, a profile mandrel, and a roller head comprising at least one roller. The method may further involve introducing the profile mandrel into the hollow shaft in order to produce a groove in the hollow shaft. The method may also involve moving the profile mandrel and the hollow shaft together relative to the roller head, wherein movement of the profile mandrel and the hollow shaft relative to the roller head is performed exclusively in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the hollow shaft in order to form a groove.
