JOINT PROCESSING METHOD AND DOME MEMBER
This joint processing method comprises: a friction stir welding step S2 for forming a joint 7 in a plate 5 by friction stir welding a groove 6 in the plate 5; a cold working step S4 for cold working the joint 7 under cold working conditions such that the grain size in the joint is not more than the grain size of an aluminum alloy in the groove 6 prior to the friction stir welding step S2; and a solution heat treatment step S5 for, subsequent to the cold working step S4, performing solution heat treatment of the plate 5. This joint processing method can suppress enlargement of the grains of the joint formed by friction stir welding.
Method and device for reshaping a workpiece by displacing material in the workpiece
The invention relates to a method for reshaping a workpiece comprising a central axis, a radial inner region, and a radial outer region, in which the radial inner region of said workpiece is reshaped by means of a punch and a die by a drawing operation in the axial direction with formation of an axial shaped section. Provision is made for the workpiece, the die, and the punch to be rotated about the central axis during the reshaping process by a drawing operation and for the radial outer region of said workpiece to be subjected, during reshaping by a drawing operation of the rotating workpiece, to the action of at least one shaping roller such that a flow of material in the direction of the radial inner region of said workpiece is caused or aided. The invention further relates to a device for reshaping a workpiece.

SPINNING FORMING DEVICE
A spinning forming device includes: a rotating shaft that rotates a plate to be formed; a processing tool that presses a front surface of the plate while being moved outward in a radial direction of the rotating shaft; and a heater that is moved so as to be located on the same circumference as the processing tool and locally heats the plate by induction heating. The spinning forming device further includes a cooling device that cools the front surface of the plate.
AN AIR DISPERSER FOR SPRAY-DRYING, AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN AIR DISPERSER COMPRISING METAL FORMING
In the air disperser (4) having a number of components including a top, a boom and an outer circumferential wall forming a space (45) defined within an inner radius and an outer radius and having an air inlet (81), a set of guide vanes (7), and an air outlet (82) at said inner radius adapted to be positioned above a feed outlet from atomizing means, at least some of said components are formed by precision metal forming such as metal spinning.

Spin forming process and apparatus for manufacturing articles by spin forming
A spin forming process and apparatus is disclosed. A workpiece (e.g. sheet metal) is rotated with respect to a forming roller which bears against one of the outer and inner surfaces of the workpiece to deform the workpiece towards a required shape. First and second support rollers bears against the opposite surface of the workpiece. Computer control of the positions of the forming roller and the first and second support rollers allow non-axisymmetric shapes to be manufactured by spin-forming.

COOKWARE FORMED OF A SINGLE METAL SHEET AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
The profile shape of the vessel body and of handle portion is formed from a single sheet of metal to create a flat by cutting, stamping or blanking. An opening is created in the handle portion to reduce heat propagation. The shape of the pan body is formed by spinning with the flat handle portion. The handle is formed by creating three-dimensional contours in the handle portion of the blank. The neck portion has a flat section adjacent the pan body followed by sections of different curvature. One section of the neck portion has a deeply curved cross-section. That neck portion transitions to the hand grip portion which has a reduced curvature, particularly toward the unattached end of the handle. The neck portion may have a W cross sectional shape. The handle grip portion may have a U shaped cross-section for comfort.
Plastic working method and spinning machine used in the same
A spinning machine includes: a main shaft which includes a chuck holding a cylindrical material having a bottom and a regulation member; a mandrel which is inserted inside from an opening side end portion of the material; and a press roller which presses the opening side end portion of the material. The spinning machine molds a circumferential groove portion on the opening side end portion so that an inner diameter of the opening side end portion of the material is smaller than an inner diameter of a body of the material by pushing a press roller while rotating the material around the axial center of the main shaft, and at least a portion of the inserted mandrel is formed so that a gap is provided between the portion and an inner circumferential surface after the opening side end portion of the material is plastically deformed.
