A press forming method for forming a press forming part includes: a first forming step of forming a preformed part, the preformed part including a side wall portion, a flange portion formed in a bottom edge being a portion having a large wall depth and a torsional shape portion formed in an inclined side portion continuous from the flange portion to reach a second curved portion; and a second forming step of further processing the preformed part formed in the first forming step, including processes of forming the torsional shape portion into the flange portion and forming the flange portion in the second curved portion continuous from the inclined side portion and in a recessed side portion having a small wall depth so as to achieve formation of a target shape.

A press-forming method for a component having a hat-shaped or U-shaped cross section and comprising a curved portion curved in a widthwise direction along with a longitudinal direction and straight side portions connecting to both ends of the curved portion from a sheet-shaped blank, wherein the blank is drawn to a hat-shaped or U-shaped cross section through a hat-shaped cross-sectional form having a top portion, vertical wall portions connecting at their upper end parts to both end parts of the top portion through fillet portions, and flange portions connecting at their internal end parts to the lower end parts of the vertical wall portions through fillet portions, and a material movement in the flange portion of the curved portion is caused in the drawing to mitigate tensile deformation or compression deformation in the circumferential direction generated in the flange portion of the curved portion.
Method for producing pot-shaped components in a shaping process
A method for producing a pot-shaped component from a flat blank. The method comprises the following steps: a) shaping the flat blank in at least one deep-drawing step to form a pot-shaped raw component having a substantially flat bottom area and a circumferential frame, and b) shaping the pot-shaped raw component in a tool having a conically tapered die that applies shear to the circumferential surface of the frame in the axial direction against the conically tapered die. In step b), the bottom area is clamped between an ejector and a hold-down mechanism and the conically tapered die surrounds the bottom area of the raw component radially on the outside and extends in a diameter-reducing manner in a tool stroke.

Press forming tool and press forming method
A press forming tool is configured to form a press forming part including: a top portion having a convex and concave outer edge part; and a flange portion. The press forming tool includes: an upper die and a lower die; and a lower pad and an upper pad, which sandwich a blank in cooperation with the upper die and the lower die, in which, during an initial stage of forming, the flange portion is formed on the convex outer edge part, and a torsional shape portion having a torsional shape toward the concave outer edge part is formed continuously from the flange portion, and during a late stage of forming, the torsional shape portion is formed into the flange portion, and the flange portion is formed in the concave outer edge part so as to achieve formation of a target shape.

A container, such as a beverage or food can is provided, which includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall and a bottom portion extending between the first and second sidewalls. The material of the bottom portion is stretched relative to the first sidewall and the second sidewall to form a thinned preselected profile, such as a dome. The material of the container at or about the dome has a substantially uniform thickness. The container is formed from a blank of material, which has a base gauge prior to being formed. After being formed, the blank of material of the container at or about the dome has a thickness less than the base gauge. Tooling having a clamp bead, or a progressive clamp bead, for selectively forming a blank of material into a container, as well as an associated method are also disclosed.

Disclosed is a press forming method press forming a workpiece between a die and a punch, while pushing the punch into the die by means of a relative motion of the die and the punch, the method includes: producing an intermediate molding (100B) having ridges (100d) formed in predetermined parts of the workpiece, and then press forming the intermediate molding (100B) into a final shape, to thereby substantially thicken and work-harden the predetermined parts of the workpiece.

The present disclosure provides a method and device for forming a plate to have a hat shape that protrudes from a bottom surface to a certain height and has a flat surface on an upper portion. In one aspect, the method comprises a) forming a plate to have a protrusion shape having a curved surface on an upper portion such that a thickness reduction rate of the plate is substantially uniform; b) forming corner portions at both ends of the plate by moving the plate whereby the protrusion portion of the plate has a substantially flat surface; and c) forming a flat surface by correcting protruding portions in the corner portions at both ends to make the protruding portions flat.
