Shot peening device and shot peening method
A plurality of rotatable small table are disposed on a rotatable large table, and a workpiece is mounted on the small tables. Above a projection range in the large table, a pressing part is provided. The pressing part is elevated and lowered by an elevating/lowering mechanism between a withdrawn position spaced above the workpiece on the small table and a pressing position for pressing the workpiece on the small table from above. Also, the pressing part is rotationally driven coaxially with a rotary shaft of the small table and in the same rotating direction and at the same rotating speed as the small table, by a third drive mechanism.

Method and Apparatus for Providing a Measuring Tape with Increased Cupping
A method of producing a measuring tape may include providing a cupped blade with substantially uniform cupping over a longitudinal length of the cupped blade, applying a stress relief operation to a selected portion of only a convex side of the cupped blade to increase curvature of the cupped blade in the selected portion of the cupped blade where the stress relief operation includes bead blasting the selected portion via a dual nozzle shot peening assembly to define a combined bead blast area that is substantially centered with respect to a longitudinal centerline of the blade, and operably coupling the cupped blade to a reel assembly and providing the cupped blade and reel assembly within a housing to define the measuring tape device.

Method and apparatus for impacting metal parts
A driven member of a metal peening machine is disclosed. The metal peening machine is configured to drive the driven member into contact with a work surface of a metal workpiece to deform the metal workpiece. The driven member includes a shaft with an impact end. The driven member includes least one of a plurality of impact features, an impact feature with a non-flat impact surface, a non-round impact feature, and an asymmetrical impact feature that is coupled to and protrudes from the impact end of the shaft. The at least one of the plurality of impact features, the impact feature with a non-flat impact surface, the non-round impact feature, and the asymmetrical impact feature define at least one impact surface to be driven into contact with the work surface of the metal workpiece.

Apparatus and method for in-situ laser peening during additive manufacturing
A method of manufacturing a part includes additively manufacturing, with an additive manufacturing machine, at least one wall of the part having a first thickness from powder in a powder bed, and peening, with a peening system, at least a portion of the wall of the part. The peening induces plastic deformation in the portion of the wall. The portion of the wall that is peened has a second thickness less than the first thickness of the wall prior to peening. The second thickness of the portion of the wall may be less than a minimum thickness limit achievable by the additive manufacturing machine.
Tools and related methods for cold-working fluid ends
A fluid end having a longitudinal bore less than about 36 inches in diameter has an internal surface that is cold-worked to have compressive stresses of at least 15 ksi (103.42 MPa) beneath the metal surface up to about 40 mils (1.016 mm).

Apparatus, system, and method for forming metal parts
An apparatus for forming a metal workpiece having a first surface is described herein. The apparatus includes a trough containing a liquid. The apparatus also includes a support for positioning the metal workpiece in an impact-receiving position. In the impact-receiving position, the first surface is submerged in the liquid. The apparatus includes a driven member for applying multiple impacts to the first surface of the metal workpiece while the metal workpiece is in the impact-receiving position.
