A process for manufacturing a metal part (10), is described said part extending in a first direction (Y) and having a section comprising a central member (14) and at least a first side member (16) extending in a second direction. The process comprises the following steps: supply of a metal blank (30); removing material from the blank so as to form an intermediate part (32) comprising the central member (14), a junction zone (12) and at least first (116) and second (118) intermediate side members, with a space (34) between the first and second intermediate side members; and hot forming (104) the intermediate part, including spreading the first and second intermediate side members apart by inserting a first punch (212) between said members.
METHOD OF SHAPING A COMPONENT
A method of shaping a component includes providing a plurality of work-piece blanks The method also includes generating a contour in each work-piece blank, such that each contour is bordered by a region of material of the respective work-piece blank. The method also includes stacking the work-piece blanks such that the contour of one work-piece blank is aligned with the contours of the other blanks The method additionally includes simultaneously annealing the region of material bordering the respective contour of each stacked work-piece blank to thereby enhance formability of the region of material. Furthermore, the method includes forming a shape in at least one of the work-piece blanks via stretching the annealed region of material bordering the respective contour to thereby shape at least one component. The component can be a structural reinforcement for a vehicle.

A method of manufacturing an aerosol generation system heater element is described. The aerosol generation system heater element comprising a seamless hollow tube, and the method comprises deforming a wall of a hollow tube to form the seamless hollow tube, the seamless hollow tube having a deformed wall, wherein the deformed wall of the seamless hollow tube is thinner than the wall of the hollow tube.

A motor vehicle component produced by hot forming and press hardening from a hardenable steel sheet plate, and the motor vehicle component has a reinforcement patch which forms a double layer with the steel sheet plate at least in sections. The motor vehicle component has an opening in the region of the reinforcement patch, such that one opening is formed in the reinforcement patch and one opening in the steel sheet plate, and one of the two openings is larger than the other and that the smaller opening is introduced during or after hot forming.
Damage evaluation device and damage evaluation method for press-forming die
A damage evaluation device for a press-forming die includes: evaluation dies installed in a pressing device configured to press-form a metal material; and an observation device configured to observe damage behavior of a die steel material and surface coating constituting the evaluation dies. The evaluation dies include: a perforating unit configured to form a hole in the metal material; a first shearing unit configured to shear the metal material in which the hole is formed into a predetermined metal component shape; and a second shearing unit configured to separate a metal component from the metal material, and dies of the perforating unit, the first shearing unit and the second shearing unit are formed of the die steel material and have a structure that enables replacement with another die made of predetermined material and applied with predetermined surface coating treatment.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HOUSING BY PRESS WORKING, APPARATUS THEREFOR AND HOUSING THEREOF
A flange part of a housing is shaped using a press working with a punch and a die, the housing including a side wall part surrounding an internal space, a bottom part that closes an opening of the side wall part in one side and the flange part bent from an opening of the side wall part in the other side towards outside. In the press working, the punch is disposed in an internal space side of the housing and the die in an opposite side of the internal space side of the housing, and a crush working is performed to crush a bend part formed from the side wall part to the flange part, while drawing at least part of an outer peripheral surface of the side wall part towards a flange part side by using the die.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING VEHICLE PILLAR AND PRESS FORMING DIE
A method of manufacturing a vehicle pillar includes: a blanking for obtaining a work piece by cutting a material; a drawing for obtaining an intermediate product by forming the work piece, using an upper die and a lower die; and a trimming for removing an unnecessary portion of the intermediate product. In the drawing, both ends of the work piece in a longer side direction are clamped between pressing pads and a punch. Then, in the drawing, both ends of the work piece in a shorter side direction are clamped between blank holders and a die. In the drawing, a center portion of the work piece is clamped between the die and the punch to form the work piece, while the clamping performed by the pressing pads and the punch, and the clamping performed by the blank holders and the die are maintained.
